  2. Just in case you need proof that Ed Rogers is fumbling idiot: http://www.torontosun.com/2015/01/23/the-inside-story-on-how-rogers-tried-to-replace-blue-jays-president-paul-beeston
  3. Yeah but it would be an "I'll go if you go" situation between two best buddies.
  4. Fawwwwk, Dodgers sign Ben Rowen. That guy is going to be like Darren O'day if he's ever given a legit chance. At some point down the road he'll be 32/33 and have several quietly superb MLB seasons on his record. 65% groundball guy with great minor league RA rate.
  5. The play here would be to take Pig f***er so that you can get Handsome Chase
  6. Are we sure they haven't walked away? Nothing is public. They may have reached an impasse last week and had no discussions since.
  7. Kelly Johnson and Jesse Crain sure would've been nice minor league deal guys. Could have justified them on major league contracts, actually.
  8. The minor league scouting reports on Hutch just seem wrong in retrospect. I remember them being: Low 90's FB with movement (sink) Average potential slider (needs work) Plus changeup And then you see him in the bigs and the FB doesn't have a lot of noticeable sink (doesn't get groundballs either), his slider looks like the better off-speed pitch (definitely plus and definitely his out pitch) and the change doesn't even really seem like an average offering.
  9. Every article written about the Duquette situation reads like intentionally leaked propaganda by either Rogers or Angelos.
  10. Sure he does. He has almost as much experience working in baseball as AA has years on the Earth. He's been the GM of a Canadian team and two other teams in the AL East. Before that he was a director of player development, and in the middle he dabbled in amateur athletics and owned and operated a sports academy in Mass. and was owner/president of some summer collegiate team. He's more basebally than most Presidents, but teams vary widely on top end organization. Some teams have a pure business dude in the President role, others have a former GM and a true baseball guy. Others split the role - the Cubs have a President of Baseball Ops (Theo) and President of Business Ops. With the Blue Jays, it makes sense to have a guy with a ton of GM experience in different organizations in the President role. They don't really need a pure "business" guy because there are already countless suits above the team in the ownership group.
  11. AA doesn't really have the resume to be a team president.
  12. Yeah I think that was Pentecost's estimate, was it not?
  13. Yeah it would be DoubleD for a ptbnl. Trea Turner was already dealt.
  14. Hey guys this kind of feels like the Dickey trade when all of the smart Blue Jays fans were like "lol no way they'll get d'Arnaud AND Syndergaard, maybe JPA and an arm" but then the worst case ontario happened
  15. Smoral is basically just Norris but still in the cocoon.
  16. lol @ 6 months for a torn labrum.
  17. Man, probably closer to 18 months. Pineda tore his labrum in March/April 2012 and didn't get back into a game until June 2013 (14 months or so). But even then, hiccups are common - the Yanks shut Pineda down for shoulder soreness in early August of 2013. It basically took Pineda 24 months to get sort of healthy.... and you could argue that he's still not right since he missed 3 months / 87 games last year with a shoulder strain. I think you can basically forget about Stilson ever being a big leaguer.
  18. Well to be fair he listed non-prospects Hutch and Stroman who are already above average SP. That only leaves 1-2 more from the entire list... so not unreasonable. Cardona is a complete write off at this point.
  19. TJS is like a Bar Mitzvah for pitchers. A rite of passage. Tirado is very likely not even a AAA caliber arm but scouts like his s*** so he's worth mentioning still. maybe.
  20. That lady was a brick, lol.
  21. And there's more, too. Clinton Hollon, Taylor Cole, Alberto Tirado, Angel Perdomo.... some other pure RP prospects. so many arms
  22. Watch more baseball.
  23. Guys, Navarro set up down the middle because he had no idea where the kid's curveball would go. He probably didn't even have a location in mind. The pitch was garbage. You hangy, Ortiz bangy almost every time, unless he's literally never seen you before. Give Navarro 100% of the credit for that K for simply calling the correct pitch type.
  24. This seems like a philosophy question. Is nothing something?
