In 2014 Hanley had a 135 wRC+ and was a -15 UZR/150 defender at SS. 3.3 fWAR. At 31, and with a 190 wRC+ in 86 2013 games, his bat should have held steady, for the most part. Hypothetically, according to the defensive spectrum and Saber dogmatism, a -15 shortstop should be a neutral zero run left fielder. Perhaps a good scout could have foreseen him turning into a -30 run LF, based on his body and some of his eccentricities, but it seems pretty random to me that he's that bad. He's handled shortstop for most of his career and while he has never been good he's always been a viable player there considering how well he hits. Him in LF making Mark Trumbo look like Alex Gordon is pretty f***ing crazy random. The offensive decline probably has something to do with the stress of sucking in the OF and being preoccupied with trying to figure that side of the game out. It was a weird f***ing signing from multiple angles though. Why pay such a big ticket price to a career SS and then plop him in your wonky LF, when your team already has a s*** ton of OF depth?

Fox, etc. own national broadcast rights, so the games are all blacked out on MLB.tv in the postseason. IIRC there is some functionality still. You can watch the games live from various cameras of your choice, but there is no commentary and there are no graphics. It's just a video feed, no replays, mediocre quality. Not a terrible option if you can somehow get radio in your ears and synced up to the feed...

This reflects so poorly on Sportsnet and GotStyle. They have had a business relationship for a while. It's crazy that they let any portion of the bill slip to Travis. Here is what should have happened: Sportsnet Producer, at end of filming - "OK, so obviously we will be paying for the suit. How much do we owe you?" GotStyle manager - "Are you kidding? This is on the house. You're basically giving us an extended commercial on national television. Just make sure to name drop the store, and get some shots of the front."

Gattis wasn't even a garbage pitch framer. 2013 - above average, 2014 - basically average (statcorner). The Astros should seriously consider making him a part time C again in 2016, with Castro and Conger both projecting for an 89 wRC+. Free up that DH spot for CCC, AJ Reed, Preston Tucker, off days for Springer, etc. Gattis won't project for a strong enough wOBA to accrue much WARz as a full time DH. Or just trade Gattis to Seattle so they can trot him out in an OF corner for 150 horrendous games.

Gattis was a much better hitter in Atlanta, and sustainably so. That talent is still in there. If he can maintain OF eligibility then he should have comparable value to Khris Davis. You could practically sandwich them on your OF rankings for 2016.

Most of us sign up anyway when the price drops down this low at the end of summer. Might as well hold hands while we do it and save a decent chunk of money, collectively. If 12 people sign up together the community saves $90. That's almost enough to send one guy to one playoff game, and then the other 11 can live vicariously through him. Or, we could all have a pizza party (no suckers allowed).

There is no way that your router and ps3 would just straight up be "not compatible". You just need to figure it out and forward the correct port or something. Other than that, I think you can buy a WDTV box for like 90 bucks and they support mlb.tv, also come with netflix apps and USB slots. Even cheaper, you could get a Chromecast and sling it from your computer.

Yeah, you have your own accounts. It's just a cheap referral system so everybody joins up right now, and then the auto-renewal clause for 2016 in the sign up contract makes MLB.TV a s*** ton of money because a lot of people who sign up for cheap will forget to cancel and end up paying $130 for it next year.

Never sleep on a plus defensive SS with some hitting tools, even if they didn't hit that well in the minors. They're bound to get a huge amount of MLB time to figure it all out, and they don't have to do that much to be a fantasy relevant SS. In other words, don't sleep on Raul Mondesi Jr Jr

Any reliever with options or without a big contract who gets surprised/upset/butthurt at getting sent down/cut is pretty much an ignoramus. Being said, Delabar's comments are fine IMO. He was probably asked a direct question - "have you been told to work on anything in particular?". -

They would have known that flipping Reyes wouldn't be easy. They'll work hard to do it in the offseason. Maybe they can find a trade partner who has a bad contract SP.
