  1. He's also 22 and in A... that age is above the league average. He's nothing. Like I said, a nice looking prospect for Bisons fans to get excited about.
  2. Well Boxy only had Pollock because I felt bad for him and sent him some sleeper advice last season, so whatever.
  3. BTS offense vs. Ryan Howard, who ya got?
  4. Ok, so Jays_Fever traded pick #56 for Axford and then turned around and traded pick #56 again to GP in the Semien deal. GP and JF need to come up with an agreeable amendment to their trade. Since this really was JF's fault, he should be extra amenable to GP's asks. As a worst case / last resort scenario the trade could be reversed, but that seems silly given the small value of pick56.
  5. Locastro might make a decent AAA player and 4th/5th IF on the 40 man, but the no-pop no-SS skills profile is a tough one for major leaguers. He even has less SS skills and pop than Jace Peterson (probably).
  6. Well at least he doesn't have "spinal stenosis"
  7. Kind of miffed that I didn't jump on that brief buy-low period on Choo BTS when Choo was done three weeks ago, Pearce for Choo, yay or nay?
  8. BTS' transaction history position in between Braun and Harvey is pretty funny. IIRC he has basically sold Harvey, Braun, and Wainwright at the worst possible times each.
  9. Yahoo actually gets all of their notes and quotes from Rotoworld, btw. I guess we should more correctly make fun of rotoworld.
  10. wow, good for him. that can't be comfortable.
  11. Hire Dusty B for one day. Just long enough for him to turn Aaron Sanchez into a reliever.
  12. lol I guess an .862 OPS is relatively disappointing from Bryce Harper...
  13. lol I remember that specific note on Harper. It was something like, "Harper went 0-2 on Sunday and is now hitting a disappointing .260/.420/.500." I wish there was a way to find it again.
  14. I love Danny Jansen but I won't let myself get excited about him until he hits in AA. Alford's BABIP is a bit high but you'd basically expect a good prospect in the MWL to BABIP .400. The Blue Jays had his hit tool as one of the best in the entire 2012 draft class, so maybe he's just barreling everything right now.
  15. After getting a couple in-game looks at him already this spring, you can see he's much more comfortable and relaxed at the plate. The strong and athletic frame looks as good as ever as well. I saw a much more selective approach at the plate, which will allow his solid bat-to-ball ability to play up. Timing was his biggest issue when I saw him, but this early in spring, that should be expected. In the field, Alford has the speed to cover an insane amount of ground, but he shows a natural ability to get great reads on the ball right off the bat, only amplifying how dynamic he can be defensively. While there is plenty of risk still involved here, you'd be hard pressed to find another prospect with his breakout potential this year. –Chris King
  16. Yahoo treats Steve Pearce like a slap hitting SS now. .404 wOBA last year = "a little sneaky pop"
  17. I mean, if Vogelsong, Danks, and Dickey were FAs in the LoD, I might not even add them. Yet here they were, for a brief moment in time, as your 20 team workhorses. Special trio
  18. holy f*** the back end of your rotation is hilarious holy f***
  19. And now for some more interesting news: Tsuyoshi Wada is back in the majors and dominating. 7 K's in 3 innings on just 39 pitches.
  20. That seems more than fair for Longoria. He's an upper tier 3B, obviously, but he seems to be done as the 140 wRC+ player that he once was.
