I don't think you get it. If Thornton is going to be part of the rotation moving forward, he has to be able to overcome and work through these types of situations. In a year like this one, management has to see what they have in the kid.
I think there is something to this. Biggio appears to have superior strike zone recognition but hasn't earned the respect from MLB umpires yet. If he hits half decently over the next year and continues to not show up umpires, he'll earn the respect of the umpires and start getting those called in his favour.
Yup.. Home plate ump making an emphatic balk call on the positioning of his front leg. How the f*** can he determine if his front leg crossed the rubber? Secondly, the first base ump is in direct line to make this type of balk call. The way Hernandez made the call you would think all the base umps would be up in arms also. What a f***ing tool.
