    As a hitter in that situation, you can initially pretty much eliminate anything up in the zone, huge advantage. I know it's not easy hitting good pitching but the combination of staying short and looking for something down around the knees (until two strikes),the chances of success is a lot higher. Regarding Betts, the pitches he struck out on vs Mayza were in the strike zone, or close to it. Not a good comparison.

    True, but he should have stayed short in that situation. Just worry about making half decent contact and the game would most likely have been over.

    I'd give the lefty another few starts, he at least looks like he can be somewhat deceptive to go along with holding runners on well. Jackson is done as a MLB ball player.
