  1. Yeah this might be one of the first overturned calls that ISN'T actually conclusive. You really can't tell if he's safe or not, so the call on the field should stand.
  2. Here's the video evidence for the overturned call from yesterday http://mediadownloads.mlb.com/mlbam/mp4/2016/06/05/776446783/1465109906017/asset_2500K.mp4

  4. So you didn't put any thought into it. Ok
  5. Need someone available off the bench.
  6. No, he pitched for like 5 months in 2014.
  7. Dude I'm trying to put this in a nice way, because you're "trade proposals" are always garbage. Why would the Yankees want 2 players who are both free agents after this season? And If they are planning on making the playoffs, they wouldn't be trading Miller away. You should put at least 10 seconds of thought into it before you just whip up some trade scenario.
  8. Some good comments from Stroman in that article. There's still 4 months left in the season, lots of time for him to figure it out and pitch like his 2014 self.
  9. Explain why the Yankees would want EE and Dickey
  10. Putting Ortiz on 1st also gives you the force out at any base.
  11. Yes. MLB posts the video angles that were used to overturn the call. They post the videos for every call confirmed or overturned. http://m.mlb.com/video/search?query=definitive+angle
  12. How is it "tightening the vice"? 1st base was open anyways, and Ortiz won't score on a double. The only way it would be worse is if Hanley hit a homer, which he hasn't hit many of this season.
  13. You're neglecting to mention the fact that Ortiz is probably the best hitter on the team and a LHH, while Hanley is a righty.
  14. Can't wait to see the definitive angle video on MLB.com for the play at home. I really want to see what video angles the umps used to determine Swihart was safe.
  15. It probably would have been a ground-rule double, so only 1 run. But that, and the garbage overturned call at home, and Stroman pitching to Ortiz with 2 RISP and 1st base open is the difference in the game.
  16. It has to do with the better matchup against Hanley and the fact that there is a base open at 1st... No hindsight involved. Even Pat and Buck were calling for Stroman to walk Ortiz. Baseball is a game of matchups. It was dumb to pitch to Ortiz in that situation. Likely Stroman's ego that kept him from walking Ortiz.
  17. No... Guys on 2nd and 3rd, 2 outs, Ortiz is a LHH, next batter is a RHH... It made a lot of sense to walk Ortiz in that situation.
  18. I'm gonna stop watching if this is ruled a catch
  19. The umpires can't just just start overturning plays because they THINK the runner is safe/out. It has to be 100%. That play was not 100%
  20. I agree, but you really can't see where/when the tag is applied.
