    And still carries a 129 wRC+ despite his clear struggles. He has very high expectations and he’s underperforming, getting in his own head too much. Same with Bo. These guys have hit their “sophomore slump” it has just come a bit later. They’ll both pull through

    I don’t think this has anything to do with performance, more so that Charlie has lost the clubhouse. You could see it yesterday between him and Vlad. He just sits and doesn’t do or say s***. Now maybe you could argue that the team’s performance is a byproduct of his poor leadership, and maybe that is correct. Either way though I don’t think he has control of the clubhouse and he’s too laid-back to be a MLB manager.

    Still no Gausman… its been 10 days at this point. Why did they not DL him when it was pretty clear he wouldn’t be able to pitch for a while? Just have him come back after the allstar break at this point. No sense trying to rush him now to be ready for 1 start against KC. And we’ve gone this entire week with 1 less arm in the bullpen, which you could argue may have cost us a game or 2. Poor roster management

    I’ve been thinking about this too. Wouldn’t be surprised to see the team go on a big run when Jansen comes back. He seems to be much better with the game calling aspect of catching, and it makes sense considering the other 2 are very new/young/less experienced.

    SSS I guess, but his struggles also coincided with the sticky stuff crackdown so maybe that was it. And he learned to pitch without it after a couple months

    He actually wasn’t elite before the trade, I remember everyone noticing his FIP/xFIP was awful and he was getting extremely lucky. And I don’t think any of us liked the trade when it was announced. But he seems to be pitching better this year

    Berrios was excellent for us last year. Robbie Ray CY Young. 2 MVP candidates that placed 2nd and 3rd in voting. ROY contender in Manoah. Top offense in baseball with a +180 run differential. Winning record against both Boston and NY. Still missed the playoffs. Pretty unreal when you stop and think about it.

    Yeah im feeling like Kikuchi is pretty much a write-off for this year. Have him work over the offseason/spring training and give him another shot next year. If he still sucks 2023 maybe just cut your losses and release him.
