    Agreed, I loved Vernon Wells as a kid. He was a solid player, just got paid way too much on his extension

    Yeah he was literally 1-2 regular season losses away from being fired and now the Yankees are the best team in baseball this year.

    Its blatantly obvious roster manipulation. Maybe some players prefer the phantom injury to getting DFA’d though? That would be embarrassing i’d think for a vet.

    Someone else mentioned it but Ross is an ex -player… it’s almost like he values the aging/journeyman type players and wants to give them a shot over unproven rookies. He wants to give guys the shot that he never had as a player. Maybe something dumb like that. Its probably better to have a nerd in charge that just sees numbers and not names.

    2 of the 3 examples you mentioned are hockey teams. Its not the same thing.

    He’s not going anywhere IMO. Arte Moreno is going to force his GM to do what he always does, keep all the star names/star power and do a half-assed rebuild that doesn’t work. Mediocrity with stars like Trout and Ohtani on the team still sells tickets.

    Yeah its bad. And alarming that they apparently valued someone like Hatch so highly. Pearson is a massive disappointment. Should have traded him in a package for Ramirez

    Funny most of us thought (with good reason) the rotation would be a strength this season. Rotation has been in shambles all year really. If Gausman and Manoah weren’t so elite it would probably be one of the worst in the league
