  1. 4 years younger if you factor WHEN Santander was signed too. Im a big Suarez fan, but he’s getting up there in age and there’s been questions about the defense lately. Suarez got slightly underpaid and Santander slightly overpaid. Its not that shocking
  2. 30 yrs old vs 34, are you restarted my dude?
  3. Shouldn’t be too hard to find a corner OF platoon bat at the deadline if needed, to platoon with Davis/Lukes/Loperfido/Barger/Okamoto/whoever is hot.
  4. That seems like a great deal for the A’s. Getting some tidy extensions done with solid players.
  5. Im pumped for the WBC, should be a great precursor to the season
  6. Lol what a crazy statement
  7. No? After the big 54 homer season, Jays signed Bautista for 5/65 or something, which was a risk at the time since he had exactly 1 good year. Turned out to be an absolute steal, then in 2016 there were negotiations and Bautista wanted 100m+ and the jays did not give it to him.
  8. Huh? How did the Jays do this with Jbats? If anything, they DIDNT do this and it saved them from paying big dollars after his decline
  9. Haven’t we always said here that anything over 100m doesn’t even matter anymore? His quality of life does not change much if he signs for 300m with the Dodgers instead. He likes Cleveland and wants to stay there. Its refreshing to see someone who isn’t a slave to the big contract. He’s doing what he feels is best for his family.
  10. He wants to stay in Cleveland. How does that not make sense?
  11. Such a wild stat that just absolutely ballooned. Everything else looked fine for him last year, just gave up almost 3x as many homers somehow in the same number of innings
  12. We need SS/2B depth the most
  13. Best piece for this team right now would be Marte, followed by Donovan.
  14. Yeah, the depth would be welcome. As of now, we are in danger if Clement or Gimenez go down for an extended period. Weak depth up the middle.
  15. Then wouldn’t he have said Bo wanted to go back and the front office didn’t want him? That would’ve stirred s*** more and made them look worse I believe what he says about a fracture between Bo and the FO. It seemed evident in Bo’s attitude these past couple seasons.
  16. Their pitching is still ass overall
  17. We can still nab a wildcard spot and dunk on the Yankees in the DS.
  18. Yes. And Now Whit Merrifield said on podcast that the relationship with Bo and the front office/coaching staff was strained going back a couple years… Could be one of these things: 1. Dante Bichette and his role with the team 2. Front office telling him he’s not a longterm shortstop 3. Hitting struggles in 2024 4. Don Mattingly’s “soft demotion” It sounds like Bo wasn’t coming back here unless we massively overpayed.
  19. Yeah i think its likely he opts-out next year and seeks the 250+ mil deal he wanted in a weaker FA class
  20. Interesting choice of words...
  21. Honestly, both the Mets and Dodger completely f***ed the market the last couple seasons. Ohtani for 700m, ok sure he's a unicorn i get it. But actually they're only paying him 450ish. Then the Mets go stoopid mode and sign Soto for 700m straight. And now these crazy high AAV short-term deals for Tucker and Bo.
  22. Damn. Oh well, probably better off steering clear from him anyways… Only other impact position player now would be someone like Marte. Long shot.
  23. Ooooo Spicy. Plz Atkins you have the chance to do the funniest thing ever with Bellinger
  24. Brother we just don’t know enough about Okamoto’s defense at this point. And he would’ve been playing 3B anyways, even with Bo in the fold. There’s no world in which Bo is an above-average defender at 2B. Clement/Bo vs Clement/Okamoto is probably a wash defensively. But anyways, the argument was strictly about Bo at 2B. Clement is a better defender at 2B, period. Keep bringing up more strawmen arguments lol
