He’s getting ragged on hard for this, but I don’t think he’s alone in not understanding these tie breakers lol. They should have a dedicated nerd to relay this info to the coaches, shouldn’t be the manager’s responsibility IMO. And clearly that didn’t happen here. But also, it would be tough for USA to win 3 games and still get knocked out. Being expected to win all 4 to advance is kinda crazy

Mexico would probably rather have US advance and hopefully play them again for a chance at revenge. Feel like the likeliest scenario here is Mexico leading most of the game, and they end up scoring a couple runs late to push the score to 7-2 or something

So my quick math is that Mexico needs to win again Italy by like 4ish runs? And that would mean USA has the worst run differential between the 3 teams, is that right? This is assuming USA doesn’t make the current game score closer
