    Still have Biggio and Merrifield to cover if necessary, possibly even Moreno. None of those guys can play an elite CF. I think we do need an elite or at least above average defender there.

    Agreed, you can’t praise Swanson and then say Nootbar sucks in the same breath. Both players in a similar position of having 1 above-average year and both their savant pages painted red. Both have some risk of ending up as meh players, but also the upside to be great

    Agreed. If they don’t get a replacement OF, then this trade stinks. Starting OF rn is Springer-Gurriel-Biggio/Merrifield. Not very sexy

    Alternatively, I could see him going the Catellanos route. Big FA/walk year, signs a huge contract that the team immediately regrets

    Dammit. Teo was my favorite guy on the team after Springer… will definitely miss him. He was super clutch too, that playoff performance against Seattle will be forgotten but he was huge for us there. He had the nastiest bat drops/pimps. If this makes the team better, then so be it. Hoping this means we go hard after a lefty OF now.

    Wouldn’t mind Trading Teo for Flexen as rumored if we used the savings to go after someone like Nimmo or Conforto

    Biggio feels like a guy the Rays would snag somehow, have him put up a 5 WAR season hitting 3rd in the lineup, then trade him again for 2 pitching prospects, 1 of which wins cy young in his rookie year.
