    Not really a “whatever” season, sure his ERA is bloated but everything else looks good. xERA, FIP, K rate etc. all pretty respectable for a mid-rotation starter

    This is true but at some point we need to start relying on homegrown/low-cost starters. We’re paying 3 guys in the rotation 20 million each next season.

    Yeah exactly. IDK how you could not like this move for the Mariners, Turner instantly becomes one of their best hitters. It is always worth improving your roster at the deadline if you are in the hunt, even in seemingly minor ways. Someone like Turner could very easily go on a heater for 2 weeks during the playoffs as he has done before.

    Yeah fair, DeJong just had the worst stretch of his career for 3 weeks as a BJ. I think we would have all gladly taken what he’s doing this year, which is more what Atkins probably expected when he acquired him.

    Adding a Justin Turner TYPE. Not exactly Justin Turner. Jesus dude. Mariners added Turner because they have a spot open at 1B. Jays could have added someone at a different position.

    Doesn’t look to me like they are rebuilding just yet. They’re not getting rid of anyone good with control for 2025. Not exactly sure what you’re expecting

Adding someone like Turner could have made a massive difference but we will never know because they didn’t really try… Although to be fair they did add DeJong who proceeded to absolutely s*** the bed. But for every DeJong you have an Eddie Rosario

    Huh?? The only player they really traded with any value is Garcia, who’s had half of a good season and is returning from injury. Pearson f***ing blows and Jansen hasn’t been very good this season, free agent at the end of the year. What exactly where you guys expecting?? Now, if we get a bunch of 40fv guys for Kikuchi I will be a little pissed. But even his numbers aren’t great right now so who knows
