    It was a solid signing in hindsight, the same way dismantling the 2022 offense was a bad idea in hindsight.

    Remember some people here (myself included) saying we missed the boat on extending Jansen for like 4/50 or whatever was floated? Comparing him to Sean Murphy. Pretty much every single young guy that looked good, that we didn’t extend, has turned into a pumpkin. The only guy that looks like an actual talent right now is Vlad, and even his career looked questionable last season. I think the front office has done pretty well to err on the side of caution and not extend guys early. Imagine being saddled with huge contracts given out to Bo, Vlad, Manoah, Jansen, Gurriel, Romano, etc.

    Agreed that infield combo is fugly. If we had a better SS then maybe they’d roll with Vlad at 3rd. I don’t exactly think he’s been given a fair shake at 3rd in the majors though. He got moved as soon as he showed up to camp fat in 2020, which was fair. But I think he deserves another shot to prove himself there.

    Yeah fair enough, we don’t need to be seeing Clement at 3rd though IMO. Should be a Vlad/Barger split

    There's really no reason to NOT play Horwitz at 2nd and Vlad at 3rd for like 80% of remaining games. This is the time to try things and see what you actually have going into the offseason.

    I don't think many here would want Bo on a mega-deal at this point, but its easy to acknowledge the team is almost certainly better next year with him here vs trading him for some underwhelming return. He'd have to be a moron to purposely play like crap in his walk year. And Bo has been a top 5-10ish SS in baseball every year minus this year.

    Also defensive positioning is wayyyy ahead of what they were doing 30 years ago. Groundball singles are probably way more rare than they were in the past.

    Laika added me to the league today and its been on and off appearing in my league list. Like sometimes it disappears and I have to logout then back in and it reappears. And sometimes the chats disappear too, which again i have to logout and in to make them reappear (only works sometimes). f***in s***** today

    Thats… an interesting deal to see mid-season. Seems like an overpay, basically around the number people thought he might get last offseason except he’s a year older. Chappy got his bag. Good for him.

    Bullpen is still a f***ing disaster lol. Will be interesting to see what happens next year. It was good in 2023, bad this year with mainly the same guys..... good again in. 2025??

    Let him be useless at 3B, at least he has an elite arm to help make up for it slightly. Opens up bringing in someone like Alonso

    He looked really good for through the first 2 months of the season, numbers took a nosedive starting in June. He’s been up and down. Kinda like Turner I guess. Though he undeniably has more power. Could see him finishing with a strong September to bring his numbers back up to something more respectable

    Lol, should’ve traded him at the deadline. If we end up trading Bassit for peanuts in the offseason then you know Atkins is a f***ing spineless weenie. Im very curious to see what happens with Bo too

    Its so moronic though. In fantasy defense literally doesn’t exist outside positional eligibility. Defense is almost half of the game, you can’t just handwave away 3-4 wins a player can add via defense. Well you can… but you’d be a moron.
