I flatly disagree. He provides 0 defensive value, is terrible on the bases, and has a really bad body. He’s 25 and already has these issues. He has show he CAN be an elite hitter, but he’s also shown he can disappear for months on end. Vlad is an extremely risky player to sign long-term.

I cannot see how they fit Alonso/Bregman/Vientos all in the same lineup with Lindor/Soto as DH options. Maybe Bregman isn’t going there, or maybe they’re planning to move Vientos.

If they sign Bregman that pretty much means Alonso isn’t returning. f*** it, play Vlad at 3rd fulltime and sign Alonso+Santander. The D won’t be pretty but the bombs will be glorious.

I wouldn’t say they’re f***ed, but they absolute cannot just “stand pat” and hope for the best. Either gotta make a couple more SIGNIFICANT additions or start to offload expiring assets. Piss or get off the pot.

This is starting to feel like last offseason again. If we don’t sign at least 1 of the big bats to help out the lineup, (and I mean a 50 million + guy, not a 1 year deal hail mary) I’d consider this offseason a massive failure.
