  1. Bautista also had a much better track record of sustained success. Anyways yeah the comparison isn’t perfect, but my point is that if Vlad is demanding the moon right now then we might as well wait til he’s a free agent. The whole point of an extension is that there’s risk on both sides. Right now its seeming like Vlad wants free agent dollars.
  2. I honestly don’t give a f***. Give me a competitive team and a championship over sentimental BS like signing Vlad 4 lyfe. Imagine if AA had caved to Bautista’s outrageous demands that time in 2016. I see Vlad as a similar landmine/potential disaster.
  3. Hell no. Dude is a dumpster fire
  4. Right. As it stands, we don’t know what number has been offered by the Jays. If they’re offering 200 mil then that’s too low and makes sense why Vlad is passing. If they’ve offered him 300 and he’s still not accepting, then f*** him
  5. He’s gonna be a star for the Mid East Falcons come next year
  6. Right I agree with this, the problem is that I think Vlad is way overvaluing himself right now. What’s market value? Because I don’t think Vlad should get over 300. But maybe for him, the number is 400. This may just need to play out in free agency next year
  7. We know Bo isn’t signing here, and he was atrocious last season. Trade value at an all-time low, might as well let him go beastmode for the FA contract. Vlad clearly isn’t giving the Jays a discount. You either extend him for market value, or wait til he’s a free agent. Could trade him, but the fans would absolutely hate it. And his value was probably highest last deadline and they decided to hold him so I don’t see a trade coming. Again, this isn’t necessarily the course I would take. But the front office has made it clear they want to compete in 2025. If you can’t extend them you just keep them and let them play out the year.
  8. You most definitely CAN enter the season with both on their last year. Might actually be better that way. If you extend either, you 100% are not trading them at the deadline. Best course of action if Vlad won’t sign a semi-discounted deal is to just let things play out. Trade both guys at the deadline if the team is out of it. If the team looks good in July, then go for it. Can still negotiate with Vlad in free agency and sign him back. And if someone else wants to give him 400 million, you let him walk.
  9. Wouldn’t Sasaki be part of the draft in any fantasy leagues??
  10. We’re really probably better off walking away. We’ve seen the bat disappear before.
  11. Its just Great for baseball
  12. The Dodgers get another ace, nice!
  13. Absolute robbery
  14. Lol if dude was a GM he’d be signing Santander to a 200 million dollar deal
  15. Kinda gives us an idea of the market for guys like Adames/Bregman
  16. Nootbar + Arenado package deal would make me fell a lot better about the lineup and shouldn’t cost too much (prospect-wise)
  17. I really can't see Vlad being traded before the season starts, but I could believe the contract rumor.
  18. Fair enough, but I will maintain that having an elite offense with bad D is a much more enjoyable product than crap O with elite D. The Yankees had neither. 2 elite guys in Judge and Soto sure, but a bunch of wildcards for the other 7. And I think the Jays definitely still have a "fundamentals" issue similar to the Yanks with bad base-running choices and defensive brainfarts. Also fairly weak D at a very important position (SS)
  19. Joe Kelly firing some nasty shots at the Yankees lol
  20. Would be a nice guy to sign, he can cover 3B/2B for 2025 and then take over as SS when Bo leaves. This FO loves positional versatility so I could see it.
  21. The way it works is the Yankees can now enforce an option for a 5th year to make the contract 5/180. DeGrom signed for 5/185 so 5/180 is reasonable
  22. I’ll do my best. Already made a few trades, felt I had a wealth of starting pitching and wanted to start looking to the future. Definitely need to do more about the bullpen, Saves/Holds are lacking. Excited for the draft to see who I can nab with #10
  23. It would be more correct to say the Ohtani contract looks more like 20/700
