From BP
Josh Winckowski, RHP, Lansing Lugnuts (Toronto Blue Jays Low-A)
The Jays spent $125,000 on Winckowski in the 15th round of the 2016 draft, and he made his full-season debut after showing well in the Northwest League last summer. Already a big guy at a listed 6-foot-4 and 202 pounds, there is projection left in the frame. That added growth should help the fastball tick up in the future, as it currently sits 91-93. Winckowski struggled in the cold rain to command his slider (87-89), but had good feel for a change that he used to generate awkward swings. The changeup has the look of a solid secondary with moderate velocity separation (84-86) and late fade. He mixed in a few inconsistent curveballs in this outing, with a handful flashing 12-6 shape and a little movement. There are some pieces here, and Winckowski is an intriguing arm. I look forward to seeing the secondaries in a more favorable pitching climate. – Nathan Graham
