    He knew the deal! How the hell can he complain? He's going to be rich beyond his wildest dreams very soon. He can't wait another year to get what he always knew was coming? My god. Not to mention, $600K is plenty of money to live on, even if his signing bonus was garbage, which it wasn't. His signing bonus alone is more than you'll make in your career! This is a mind-boggling display of greed. Alex Bregman should pull his own dick out of his mouth and get a shred of self-awareness.

    Do we want every player to get paid exactly what they're worth as soon as they're worth it? Or do we want 30 teams who are actually capable of theoretically competing? These two things are mutually exclusive. We as fans should absolutely not care about the supposed injustice of soon-to-be very rich men getting rich a little bit sooner.

    No offence but I think it's a f***ing retarded argument. If you want a totally free market, then you should outlaw everything other than 1 year deals. If Alex Bregman gets hurt and misses 162 games, how about we pay him $0 the following year? How about non-guaranteed contracts so Anaheim can rip up the abomination of a deal that Pujols signed? Players don't get paid what they DESERVE, that's never been the deal. Players get paid what they can NEGOTIATE at the moments in their careers where they are afforded the luxury to do so based on the agreement that their own union negotiated. Bregman's current production is already baked into the leverage he had when he signed his signing bonus. f*** Alex Bregman and f*** you, commie!

    That's nonsense. This system enriches Alex Bregman type players more than anyone. Not only does he get a huge signing bonus, he's going to be making boatloads of money very soon in arb and FA. It's the Kevin Pillars who should be complaining, if anything. The players who don't get big bonuses, the players whose skillsets don't get rewarded in arbitration, the players who get chewed up and spit out for their cheap productive years and then struggle to find big league jobs. Alex Bregman doesn't have a damn thing to complain about.

    I'm getting really sick and tired of superstar players and the union complaining about being poor. Bregman got a motherf***ing $5.9M signing bonus and gets paid $500k per year to play baseball. Most of the people in this forum will never even make half of that in a year. As soon as he gets to arb he's going to be making 8 figures, even if he never signs a long-term extension for some reason. Who the f*** does he think he is?
