  1. I think the scouts are right this time, though. Buxton is a stallion.
  2. Every scout in baseball can't be wrong. Except about Delmon Young.
  3. I can't believe I actually traded Buxton. Then again, I couldn't believe some of the trade offers I said no to. Almost half the teams in the league offered me mid-prime all-stars in one-for-one offers at some point this season.
  4. There's no point in even discussing Choo, who is a Boras client. Boras and the Jays have blacklisted each other and it's not going to change until Beeston leaves.
  5. Steamer has Hyun-Jin Ryu pitching 269 IP next year. Who wants in on the next legendary workhorse? Anybody looking for a Korean ace?
  6. Anybody want Jason Motte for a draft pick or prospect? He was an elite closer until TJS and should be healthy to start the year, and he could be in line for saves again with Mujica a FA. I'll take pretty much anything for him. Low risk, high reward type for a team with an open roster spot and a pick they're not going to use anyway.
  7. Cats Ass, you can't do any better for a 1/2 than Kershaw/Darvish. That is a beastly top pairing.
  8. I have to say I like Spanky's take too, I would gladly take Jonathan Gray over the #6 pick this year. I probably would have rather received Gray and Franco if I were you Kat. I like Gray more than Franco, I'm not really sold on him yet. Apparently he has a stiff swing.
  9. I owned Rizzo in 2 leagues this year and it was not an enjoyable experience by any means. Tons and tons of 0-4s and 1-4s with some serious long-term power outages. In my 12 team league I dropped him in early August and he never got picked up again.
  10. I thought your bats were better than your pitching already. McCutchen-Choo-Beltre-Mauer-Kemp seems like a pretty viable core, while Darvish was far and away your best pitcher. On the flip side, you may have picked up two 30 HR bats for 2014. Or a fat guy in early decline and a mid-tier 1B who never hits for average. It could go either way. LaRoche and Carter netted about 50 HR, so I'm not sure Prince and Rizzo will be a huge improvement on that next year. I'd probably take the ace in his prime who punched out 277 batters this year over that delta, but that's just how I see it.
  11. For me, Darvish is by far the best player in the deal, so I agree. He's the kind of guy you can really build a rotation around.
  12. I'm calling Not It on processing this trade. Also, everyone needs to confirm before it goes through.
  13. I remember lots of people thinking Colorado raped Cleveland on the Ubaldo deal, but the Indians definitely got the last laugh. Pomeranz and White busted hard.
  14. I actually think the waiver draft will be quite deep. Every team is going to be cutting several ownable players. There are always gems at the back end of the MiLB draft, but they are few and far between. It's essentially panning for gold.
  15. Wow trade talks are exploding now that the ice is broken. BTS flips the Torii Hunter draft pick for closer-in-waiting David Robertson. Robertson's numbers are bloody ridiculous, could be a beast next year.
  16. I'm fine with pursuing Anderson if the price is heavily discounted, but I can only assume Beane will rape Anthopoulos.
  17. I'm guessing from your trades that you don't think there will be much in the Waiver Draft after the 2nd round.
  18. The worst: When you trade a player and then get a far better offer an hour later. Guess I underestimated the Enny Romero market.
  19. And can you all stop inundating me with inquiries about Marco Scutaro? He is NOT available. PERIOD!!!
  20. Can't really blame Spanky for wanting to hold onto his best players. Spanky, I just sent you a PM inquiring about 3 of your best players.
  21. So Boxy would start the season with the #1 waiver and FTD would be #20.
  22. It's reset to the standings, at least I think that's what I wrote in the Rules thread. The Waiver Draft and waivers are two completely separate entities in my mind, in fact if it were up to me I'd rename the Waiver Draft and call it the Rule 5.
  23. Hey FTD, you need to confirm your deal with Boxy on the proboard before I can process it.
  24. 2.70 ERA, 33 SV, 3.29 K/BB... -1.0 WAR? wat His 1st/2nd half splits are crazy, he was untouchable from June on.
