  1. How about Ortiz and Ellsbury for Jones?
  2. No, I want insurance for Mr. Stenosis. However, Pujols, Ortiz and Gattis are now available for prospects.
  3. NJH, your box is full, but I accept.
  4. I kinda think of it as evening things out for the terrible called ball 4 in Bautista's favour.
  5. No, not at all. There were runners on 1st and 3rd with nobody out. I feel like Goins had a pretty good chance of at least making contact and beating out the back half of a DP to score the tying run, and a suicide or safety squeeze should also have been on the table in that situation (extremely fast PR on 3rd, nobody out, good bunter at the plate). You do a safety squeeze there, you either score the tying run and have a runner on 2nd with one out, or you have runners on 2nd and 3rd with one out. Navarro was a GIDP waiting to happen, which COULD score the winning run, but might not. I wasn't even thinking he was going to strike out, let alone him AND Revere (on that TERRIBLE f***ing called strike 2). All that said, Wade Davis is a boss and you have to tip your hat.
  6. Chicks dig the long ball. Having only one 30+ HR season as a DH during the steroid era hurts his case with the dinosaurs. A career .312 average is great, but not sexy enough on it's own without an MVP or championship on his resume. They don't give a s*** about OBP. It's not right, but what can you do? I think we should all just stop caring about the HOF, it's a farce.
  7. If someone offered you a $325M contract, you would take it, regardless of who was offering it. He will still probably be traded at some point.
  8. Failing to make contact in that situation was completely unforgivable, BUT, pinch-hitting Navarro for Goins was probably a mistake in the first place.
  9. Barry Davis: "Dioner, I noticed Marco didn't shake you off once today, and Mark Buehrle never shakes you off. Why is that?" Navarro: [straightfaced] "Dey know better."
  10. As much as I ripped on Navarro, when he hit that game-tying home run off Andrew Miller I nearly wept with joy. Of course, he then put on the winning run the next inning with catcher interference. Really, I'm indifferent if he stays or goes, but if I never have to hear Pat Tabler call him a "good"/"professional" hitter again, I'd be happy.
  11. I had the best team in the NBA fantasy league before we folded. I'm a basketball idiot savant.
  12. Oh don't worry, I'll bump again later. The main points are accurate though, Carroll is a roleplayer that we tied up too much money in, DD is a volume scorer that won't carry our team or make things happen against good competition, and this team is decidedly mediocre.
  13. Bump!
  14. It's a soft J. Like Yodo.
  15. He also plays for the most terribly run org in baseball.
  16. OH GOD. I would sell the farm for him. Osuna + Pompey +.
  17. It's gonna be kinda weird though, because last time Dan and Buck were together, Dan was the play-by-play guy and Buck did colour. But now Buck does play-by-play, and Dan doesn't have the on-field career to do colour. Should be interesting to see how they handle that.
  18. Dan Shulman and Buck Martinez?! What year is this!?
  19. Meh, I had a roster crunch. He was 35 with a modest 3.86 FIP. I didn't want to cut him, but he was the logical candidate at the time. His late-career renaissance is remarkable.
  20. Nov 7, 2013 at 9:28am QuoteEditlikePost Options Post by drdinger on Nov 7, 2013 at 9:28am To BALCO: John Lackey + MiLB #116 To Wrench: #73 NVM, you did get him for free.
  21. You didn't pick up Lackey for free, I traded him to you in the off-season for like a 2nd rounder or something, after I picked him up for free.
  22. I'm also pretty sure I streamed Keuchel in that league, and definitely owned and dropped Garret Richards as well.
  23. I dropped Arrieta in FC However, he didn't break out for another 3 years, so I don't feel so bad about it.
  24. I thought he already has "exploratory" surgery a couple months ago. Perhaps they didn't find anything then.
