    Gotta say, I’m not chubbing over this. Kinda feels like it takes us out of the running for signing Bauer/Paxton/Turner etc. This feels like a musical chairs signing, rather than filling a specific need. Hope I’m wrong and he somehow puts up another 7.6 WAR season.

    He specifically said he wasn’t fired. It’s too bad, if we are being honest he was the less replaceable of the two. Tim is the straight man, it isn’t that hard to find. Sid really walked the line of douchebag/blowhard and self-deprecation with mastery, and he was passionate and knew his s***. I can’t help but think he’s going to a much worse fit.

    Cruz would probably only require a 1 year deal and is a vastly superior hitter, however. Certainly worth the flexibility loss. f***ing dude put up 2 WAR in 1/3 of a season strictly with the bat, he's a f***ing freak. Kids, the moral of the story is: do steroids while you're young.
