  1. If the ump is not giving him the strikes he will just induce a GB and have another ump rule on it.
  2. I agree with you on both counts. Also, the dry cleaning one reminds me of actual situations where people keep doing the name-dropping thing while at the same time I can appreciated how technology can keep you in touch with your interest (sport etc). Maybe I am reading too much into ads.
  3. Apparently it works for some people but for me, I agree that it does not work well.
  4. Maybe they are trying to show a connection/partnership between the two companies or groups of people? As I see it, if a person has to keep guessing what the idea behind the ad could be then it has not hit the mark. The way he keeps looking at her at the end is really creepy to me.
  5. Might have been better if she was making sign language at him but that could cause a problem if they do not have any personnel with those skills or some deem it to be not politically correct. All I get from that (I also understand the shaking off signs part) is it appears as if he has a disability and cannot speak for himself or he is hoping someone can read his mind.
  6. They need one of Reyes and the airline staff, flipping between scenes, showing the following characteristics: Infectious personality - shot of Reyes' smiling face in the dugout switching over to a helpful smiling customer service attendant Speed - shot of Reyes' stealing bases and switching over to WJ personnel getting people/baggage through quickly Delivery - shot of Reyes' hitting a homerun and an exuberant WJ pilot/attendant at the end of the flight I guess this is why I am not in the advertising/marketing field.
  7. A rose by any other name is still a rose? Any truth to that? Passed through NYY, plays the OF, from the DR, and ends up in TOR. Just having fun so don't feel I am saying he will replace Cabrera.
  8. So let me see if I understand this... You dislike confrontation, you didn't complain when you had too much head without enough beer? That turned the season around? I think they were referring to the Jays' season and not your.
  9. Sorry, saw that after I made the post. I seem to be behind in the thread today. Error on my part.
  10. Wasn't it a forced out? If so, he didn't have a choice.
  11. Thanks for the clarification. I am out of here now. Have fun all.
  12. Not sure if that was a misconstructed sentence or if the intention was to be disrespectful to me? Care to clarify?
  13. LOL. Reminds me of some FBI/Police type of movies - I really don't care if you did it or not, just confess and everything will be alright.
  14. I took your comment exactly how you intended it to be received so I am certain other did as well. You mentioned previously that you have been on boards for a long time so you should know you cannot escape the mindset of some people. Knowing this, you can either keep correcting their misconception and apologizing or just be yourself knowing what your true intentions were.
  15. Was this proof forwarded to the Admins? If not, then you are not really hoping for a resolution. If it was but no further banning took place then they did not have conclusive proof to support the challenge. *just trying to put a little baseball back in it*
  16. If true, pass the proof onto the admins and let them take care of it rather than congest the board with all of these needless/destructive comments which only seem to degrade the topic and the quality. Not singling you out specifically, just responding to your comment while stating an opinion on what I have seen.
  17. Do you have proof? Even if this was true, is his current contribution trolling or offensive? Most people can change so I prefer to give them a chance. If you have no proof then you are just on a witch hunt. Why not try to keep the conversations about baseball? Isn't that the purpose of this board?
  18. From what I have observed, new members are treated with suspicion. This is done frequently by just a few individuals and not by the majority. Try not to take them on if at all possible and if that's too much just put them on "Ignore". If someone is constantly being rude and disrespectful then it is better not to interact with them. The admins are trying to make the board a better place so if you feel you are being singled out for abuse just send them a pm. Sorry to hear your first experience here was not a good one.
  19. As long as those two keep beating up on each other and remain at a decent distance in the basement then it does not matter to me.
  20. It may be as you described but when used sparingly it can catch the hitter off-guard and as such becomes very effective. When he is having trouble with his knuckleball the hitters can be more patient and sit back waiting for the FB to hit it hard.
  21. Initially that's what drew them here however over time one or more of the following came into play: Difference in maturity levels, big egos, thin-skinned, low tolerance for those who do not have a good grasp of stats or the game. I am sure there may be other factors which does not come to mind right now. Anyway, you will ask find a few who are down to earth and love to talk about, or share their insights on, baseball. It's a great place to pick up/increase your baseball knowledge.
  22. It may be debatable however in my opinion it was the right call. Gibbons is looking at the score and the # of runners on base. Last inning if Dickey walked one the scenario would be as it is now and he was getting someone ready cuz with 2 on and a 3-run HR makes it a 1-run game. Hopefully the change in the type of pitcher will be enough to throw them off.
