  1. Those types of errors are definitely infuriating however the concept of perfection in a game of baseball is rare however only 1 routine error is really having high expectations. Playing and making split-second decisions in the heat of the moment is not as easy as you would think it is. Pillar did say, either on TV or in a report, he should have played it differently but in that moment he felt it was a play he could make. It hopefully became a learning experience and everyone in the MLB has room to grow (learn). For all that Bautista brings to the team he too has his bad moments (bad decisions) on plays in the field. It's just part of the game - trying to keep the momentum on your team's side can sometimes conflict with common sense. It's not as if they are deliberately choosing to make a bad play.
  2. Venting is acceptable however it seems a bit overboard most of the times. It really dampens the mood of the thread. The Jays offense has the potential to score lots of runs in a game however some will be uttering the game's over very early in the game. It's as if there have absolutely no idea about the game of baseball. Also, some plays can really look bone-headed and mind-boggling but to live and die by almost every play is just unbelievable. This does not automatically give anyone the license to be overly obnoxious. Some on here are quick to call the umps/Gibbons/Rivera/Walker/Anthopoulos/insert multiple players names idiots. Why is there a need to call him, or any other team member, an idiot/loser etc.? It's as if those who are doing the name calling can actually do better under the same circumstances. Maybe in their minds they can do better but if that were really so they would be playing at the MLB level rather than from their safe little couches. The only idiots/losers, in my mind, are those who have absolutely no self-control over the outcome of a game. I can partially understand if you have placed a sizable sum of money on the outcome of a game but then again that's also idiotic unless you really have money to burn. in before anyone else - tl;dr
  3. LOL. Priceless. Check out Jaysfan_85's reaction. Should I rage or should I rave... Should I stay or should I go...
  4. Saw it when it first came out and was amazed at how they play in the streets with such a small pieces of stick and are still able to hit the bottle tops - they must have a good eye.
  5. We usually do the same things and find it totally stress-free. It's also nice seeing a lot of the Jays fans on the train and the walk is short to the Rogers Centre. Will never bother driving into Toronto again to see a game.
  6. Miller is pitching well enough but the Cards are also getting a lot of breaks. Buehrle was also quite lucky so far - 101 pitches through 6 so his day is most probably done. So days are like that- they most probably made a sacrifice to the baseball goddess.
  7. It hurts to see him not make that play but maybe he is being cautious so as not to injure himself.
  8. Not sure about the mobile app but on my laptop it allows me to watch 4 channels at the same time - Neat!
  9. It's different for sure but I prefer the classic so at the very bottom of the screen I selected it.
  10. The ump has a wide strike zone tonight so hopefully that's beneficial for Dickey.
  11. That would be a nice option but things do not usually work out that way. You cannot have a reliever in the BP who can only be played in those situations cuz if the situation does not develop often enough it means you may be overtaxing the other arms. Also, how do you determine a blowout game? 5-0, 10-0, 15-0? 5-0 should be enough of a lead to bring in any reliever in my opinion. You walk 2 batters you are automatically pulled cuz you are not doing your job.
  12. I agree with this wholeheartedly. You are usually in for a batter or an inning at most, just throw strikes and let them make the mistakes. You got to warm up in the BP but you cannot throw a strike - Not saying to throw it down the middle but relievers should be whipped for walking hitters unless it is an intentional walk.
  13. Remember, he only threw 3 pitches so he should still be good to go if required.
  14. Yes, he used a nice short swing and got the momentum going. Lawrie had a more level swing rather than that long, loopy uppercut. Looks like the hitting coach is having a nice impact on some players' approach. It was a pitching duel which, for me, makes it feel like you are always in the game especially with the way the Jays hitters have been lately and a win just makes it even more satisfying.
  15. I believe his mouth did not utter what his brain was trying to process. Sometimes things can be phrased incorrectly. Jays have had 8 shutouts and have only been shutout once.
  16. Maybe he meant Jays have shutout teams 8 times and was only shutout once.
  17. I agree with this. The D has not been perfect however it is more than adequate. No team, as far as I am aware, has a defense without errors -Sometimes they will boot the ball around, take bad routes, not throw to the cut-off etc. This team is performing adequately considering the rotation issues - good pitching is essential.
  18. If you only look at stats the "D" on paper does not look good enough for contenders however in isolation of everything else it skews the value of the players involved. What does the team have to do to get above average corner OFers who can hit like our current players? Isn't that asking for a lot especially when those are not truly weaknesses taking into consideration other areas of concern? Some people tend to use stats to show-up a weakness but offer no names or the means (assets) to replace those who are targeted as weak. I am never sure what point they are trying to get across since it is a lot easier to find faults than to come up with workable solutions.
  19. Correct. However if online registration has not been done the individual will have to do that step as well. The individual can then log in to the following website with their email credentials (email address/password): http://now.sportsnet.ca/ http://www.rogersondemand.com/ondemand/channels/blue_jays_live http://www.rogersondemand.com/
  20. By the way, welcome to the board.
  21. I think what you did was good - hope it takes off and becomes successful. Lind has been given a good whipping on here in the past but part of the problem was with management not identifying the proper role for him. He is a team player, loyal, and seems to possess a down to earth personality. I also agree with him in that he could play as a regular on another team although not at a great performance level. I truly wish him success.
  22. It almost happened but failed at the last moment. Anthopoulos, when he saw it could happen, said he was willing to give up almost the whole farm but Tampa had a particular player in mind and would not budge on their demands. It was the deal breaker. Tampa wanted Anthoupolus to include John McDonald or it was no deal and that's the story so let's just forget about unloading the farm.
  23. May be a fellow Australian which may seem like to good idea to him.
  24. ALE teams are all playing against teams with losing records however one of BoSox or Tampa will fall further back from the top of the standing.
