  1. I wish I read this before posting, you summarized my thoughts only better.
  2. A significant caloric deficit diet isn't sustainable long term, and I assume that is what Vlad was on this off-season because there really is no other way to shed 20+ lbs in such a short period of time. Even staying at a maintenance calorie intake is probably hard for a guy who is used to consuming X calories during a major league season and thus some weight gain is to be expected as you said. More lasting and meaningful body shifts take longer than one season to accomplish, it requires a lifestyle change and time.
  3. Also on the topic of whether or not Vlad has put on weight, I think alot of people overestimate their ability to determine someone's weight with their shirt on.
  4. He lost 40 lbs over the off-season. That is not possible unless you are on a caloric deficit.
  5. I feel like this is said before every series against the Red Sox, and every series they s*** pump us. I'm just hoping for a split.
  6. If it did result in draft picks commanding more money it would only benefit rich teams like his.
  7. Was it ever determined if the dogg actually had a mental disorder? The alt accounts dating back to the jays forum days always struck me as bizarre, even by troll standards.
  8. This coupled with our front office's reputation makes me feel alot better about this trade. It seems the public perception of Martin was different than that of the industry. It's always important to remind ourselves that as fans we are never working with a full picture of things.
  9. I'm muslim too, and I'm not married and have dated several women. WTF are you talking about?
  10. Less weight would likely allow him to rotate more explosively. In theory that could lead to some more velo.
  11. You guys know most of these players are going to bust, right?
  12. Grichuk would have f***ed up anyway. When he comes up with 2 outs I always turn the channel.
  13. Yes, Kimbrel was actually the exact player I was thinking of.
  14. That's what I figured. He isn't even running into the odd home run anymore. It's at the point where I'd consider trading his bad contract for another in the hope that a change of scenery helps.
  15. Hopefully Dickerson is back after the ASB which limits Grichuk's at bats considerably.
  16. What is Grichuk's OPS since June? It feels like he has done nothing since the opening month and a half.
  17. I feel like you have said that alot this year.
  18. I always chuckle when I read, "Just please don't take player X." No one knows the future, it wasn't that long ago that player X was Trea Turner. Just be happy with whomever the Jays select and hope for the best.
  19. Well its not clear that they are actually pursuing Cruz, but if they were the rationale would be that a run scored equals a run saved.
  20. The difference is that Heyward's value was built primarily on elite defense which declines early.
  21. Who cares about Cruz' defense? He is one of the best hitters in the game and a clear DH. There is room for him on every AL team save Houston and New York.
