  1. f*** this knuckleball movement. I hate it. We're not good enough to pretend to have found some type of inefficiency. I realize this makes no sense.
  2. Can we just boycott the media? Russell Wilson was quoted saying, "Never say never" in regards to coming back to baseball. It was then twisted into an article discussing his wide range of abilities and why it helps him be so humble. It takes 10 seconds to type his name into google followed by baseball stats. Why be intentionally ignorant?
  3. I was ready to read this hoping you'd enlighten me, but then I see JA Happ?? This guy is mediocrity defined. He's the wrong guy to put your faith in.
  4. I can't wait until Happ and Redmond are named the guys. It'll be marvelous.
  5. Or because Alex is a sucker for the big names.
  6. Well no, he's probably old school and therefore ignorant. He's a "30/100" fan.
  7. I thought that was real. Was replying and everything. Ugh.
  8. I don't believe for a second we offered that for Anibal Sanchez.
  9. I was a fan when Vinny Cerrato led Redskins and would hand out $100 million dollar contracts to players with a single year of success... Let me tell you, this is MUCH worse.
  10. Believe me, I agree with this. The problem is, we can't spend a few million strictly because of those backloaded contracts. Alex was too naive to think past 2013.
  11. I'm not convinced any of the other free agents had the name/recognition to be wanted by our front office. It didn't last year. First of all it's ridiculous to assume that everyone in the front office is incompetent. It may just be the interns, but somebody in there is educated and doesn't get any sleep at night based on the results. Second, the team isn't giving up. They WANT to add, but simply can't.
  12. This is the sort of mentality I don't understand. CLEARLY based on the last few years, most of what Alex touches turns to s*** and/or he doesn't acquire the players that he should have. Why the hell would you have any confidence in this current front office to follow through with whatever it is you were hoping for? We aren't the Yankees, we aren't the Rays, we aren't even the Mets or Indians. We're a team that can't acquire through trade, can't attract a free agent (mostly because of Alex's track record for getting the worst out of players - and yes I know it's not his fault directly) and more importantly there's a reluctance to pay. It seems to me that the morons around here are the ones that are stuck in 2010. This isn't about fans being right or wrong anymore because no matter what type of fan you are, you're against whatever it is this front office has unraveled into. Get mad at the "team policies" or poor moves made by this team, not fans that are reluctant to see more questionable moves added to what is already a poorly constructed roster. Remember, 2015 is our year. Management will be gutted and once again we can come up with suggestions and our own theories. In the meantime, it's all for naught.
  13. A "do over" as opposed to Jimenez or Santana? If this core can't perform, what the hell does it matter? Kudos to Blue Jays management for not putting us in a bigger hole, I'm just not sure who's responsible for that and if it's intentional.
  14. Uhhhh I don't know man. I'll laugh at Clarkson all day, but I think he's got something with that team and I'm not a Leafs fan.
  15. I don't think Alex is sitting on his hands and not doing anything, there's more to it than that. A) He has no money due to last years splurge. Or perhaps just Rogers being cheap bastards. He has no trade market due to last years overpayment. He simply cannot and will not recover from last year because going forward the price for a SP of substance is his two top prospects. The guy was always a dud in free agency and frankly I'm glad he's not being given permission to spend freely, because we'd probably have nothing to show for it. On a side note, say what you want about MLSE and their lack of success, but this type of management would not stand within that organization. Alex would have been fired and Beeston and his gentlemen's club would've been told to be on their way. Rogers, please sell the team.
  16. True, but I think we should put that thought to bed.
  17. What would make you think we're going all in? We're a team that went all in, failed and are subsequently going to do nothing about it. If I didn't know any better ownership is saying, "Hey Alex! Prove that you were right last year!". I know you guys don't like to believe it, but this team is waiting to either fire the current front office or support them if we win. There's no in between here of trying to get better with marginal acquisitions, Alex needs to prove he made the right choice(s).
  18. ERA too high. BB/9 too low. Contract fairness too fair. Not our type of target.
  19. Of all the weird things this team has done recently, this move was actually one I was fine with. Lawrie wasn't hitting, he looked horrible at the plate and the Blue Jays weren't going to get complacent? Why not make him work on a new position (which won't hurt him in the long run) as he struggles?
  20. Tremendous insight. Seriously though, Gose as a runner/defensive sub is infinitely more valuable than Wallace and his ____.
  21. I've got to admit, I thought he was good. Didn't like the trade..
  22. If Alex is smart we're not trading for anyone. I don't think we're signing anyone either.
  23. I was just going to mention him. He's starting to break through.
  24. No he's f***ing horrible.
