  1. The guy doing the negotiating just gave up Synder and d'Arnaud at a time that us fans were adamant that the Mets must be either choosing between them or giving back another star. WRONG, WRONG. Our gm just happens to be absolutely mental. If Hoyer doesn't manage to get both Stroman or Sanchez, I'm sure the industry will think less of him. "How did he not get Alex to budge?"
  2. A year ago I would have believed this trade could come together without giving up Stroman or Sanchez. A year later, I'm convinced it will take both. Our gm should be institutionalized if he does it, but that won't stop him.
  3. The baseball playing experience is invaluable for a stats guy.
  4. f*** I'm not even mad about AA's 5 year policy. It's the only thing he does right in my opinion. Cano at 36/37 year for 25+ million per? Yikes. Remember, we're roughly 2 years away from the entire front office being fired and somebody new stepping in. We don't need more immovable contracts.
  5. I'm actually more convinced there just isn't a market for Janssen given what Alex probably values him at. "Wow you you won't give up that position player for my 34 save, 2.56 ERA closer?!?"
  6. You can add this saying in about every sentence for a better representation.
  7. Hutchison for Carter Capps will likely go down a couple weeks later.
  8. I'm not sure if he'd bring us enough in regards to the choreographed handshakes.. Better stick to DeRosa.

I'm not sure how you can come away from last night and say Gay looked "terrible". He pretty much locked down the 4th as calmly as you'd expect from a 19 million dollar man. Now is he worth that? No, but he played well last night.
  10. Aaron Sanchez for Gordon Beckham would fit right in line with what Alex seems to want to do with this baseball team.
  11. He was so incredibly bad here. It's impossible for me to acknowledge he's done anything there.
  12. "I think there's too much talent, too much youth and too much ability for it to not come back at some point" - On Romero "He was throwing out 25% of base runners, league average was 26%" - USED AS A POSITIVE ON JP I'm so tired of having a GM spew out absolute garbage
  13. No he doesn't.
  14. One down, many many many more to go.
  15. I don't see a problem with this? None of our starters are good anyways.
  16. Just when I was starting to like Zauny, he says something like this. Hard to blame the guy though, he's looking for alternatives that are original.
  17. I'm hoping Rasmus goes.
  18. Morrow, 5.42 FIP/4.49 xFIP. Arm fell off after 50 innings. Josh Johnson, 4.62 FIP/ 3.58 xFIP. His fastball is officially 0.9 MPH above league average, which doesn't exactly warrant much praise. JA Happ reassured me that Alex and Co. lost their minds last trade deadline. Not his fault, he performed as expected. RA Dickey and the magical contract we traded for looks to be feeling the effects of 38 years of age. 2 MPH dip in Knuckleball velocity? Consider me a pessimist going forward. Maicer Izturis seems to have lost all interest in staying in shape/playing defense. I attribute this to being a Blue Jay. Melky Cabrera who was signed for $2 million per WAR this offseason, looked worse than Henry Blanco on the base paths. He's also a recovering steroid abuser. Anthony Gose reassured everybody that he can't hit and since our team doesn't value defense, he's not much for the Blue Jays. Brett Lawrie kind of sucks. Blame Mark DeRosa if you'd like though. It was his responsibility to keep Lawrie in check, he just couldn't do it, . Jose Bautista is officially approaching age regression territory. We had Corey Patterson and Eric Thames batting ahead of him for his best two seasons here, . On the contrary, Edwin is f***ing awesome. Reyes is great to have batting ahead of our 3/4. Colby was outstanding, but we all know this can be taken with a grain of salt the minute 2014 starts. Delabar and Cecil are fun to watch, but also volatile relievers. Hutch will be back next year. Our attendance went up despite one of our worst years in the last decade. We no longer have to hear Stadium Love or be part of #LoveThisTeam. AA is on his last legs and we are only 1 year away from the inevitable GM switch.
  19. I still can't believe that over the course of one calender year (or less) AA managed to turn a team with well designed contracts into the AL Phillies. I mean the guy was gifted two 4+ WAR bats in the middle of the lineup and he hasn't been able to solidify anything else on the team. The JA Happ trade is still the turning point for me. He went full retard right then and there and we know you can't come back from that.
  20. There's apparently an "out" in the contract which would have the Argos elsewhere sooner.
  21. I absolutely love John Gibbons. He recognizes essential parts of the game that John Farrell seems unable to comprehend. It isn't his fault our team is a giant clusterf*** with questions at every other position. In regards to our pitching staff, I look more at the bullpen (before they ran out of steam) than our front 5 who would have been terrible under anybody. Now if you want to talk about Alex Anthopolous.. I have a much different opinion.

Wow. You may have outdone yourself on that one. Nice work!
  23. We need somebody to toss a grenade in the Alex's press box. I've never been so done with a front office before. This team has absolutely no idea or control on what they're doing.
  24. I know it's weird, but I don't even view Lawrie as a concern at this point. The entire team outside of a few predictable hitters flat out suck. If Lawrie is going to suck, then so be it. Otherwise, chalk this season up as a lost year like everyone else will.
  25. I know this goes without being said, but the MLB has to be very careful here. Allowing the Yankees to get out of this contract isn't something that your typical baseball fan will forget about. I can't even begin to imagine the kind of conflict that would create.
