  1. The thing is, he is what we thought he was. A reliever. Turn the entire pen over every year and you're probably better off than relying on the same names. It's a f***ed up position
  2. Baseball is so weird. Tolleson, Edwin and Juan have a combined .170/.230/.297 line over their past 30 games. Combined .288/.370/.655 in May. We suck for a very obvious reason.
  3. The problem is that Hoffman and Pentecost have qualified agents who understand that they're in the position of power.
  4. Lowest .ISO in the majors (among qualified). 2nd worst being Mr. Revere. Billy Butler is 9th worst. WTF
  5. Anyone else actually miss the old board? I find it less enticing to read around on here.
  6. Who cares, nobody knows anything and we're all watching the same videos. It's embarrassing how offended some people get.
  7. Haha yep I was just going to say, the Blue Jays actually were the first team to do this at such an extreme level.
  8. I do remember Greenwood being very pro Chavez, kudos.
  9. I'm sure our FO thinks $1 mill per 5ish saves is a big time bargain.
  10. I hadn't ever considered this, but it really is inevitable isn't it?
  11. I raise you a Cole Hamels change up.
  12. Scott Feldman seems to be out on an early "f*** you FIP" quest. If he keeps this up for a couple more starts, Heyman and others might just make him the early season Cy Young favorite.
  13. I just glanced over his stats from late last year, jesus christ.
  14. Yeah it's awesome/he's awesome, but there seems to be an undeniable connection with Santos and shaky moments. I definitely prefer Santos to Casey, but until he's commanding his fastball consistently, I'm not ready to say he's a 2-3 WAR guy. Also I will admit I avoided most if not all of his 2013 appearances.
  15. The Sandlot needs to be everyone's vote.
  16. Surely you're crazy?
  17. The topic question has usually been beaten to death by the time I get into these threads. Based on last year, I'm not so sure they won't just try and go against what you're saying. The Brett Lawrie we have in our hands today doesn't have any potential for a high SLG, he should be trying to get on base. "The Seitzer Approach" will be in full effect here....
  18. Considering the paths they're both going on (one in St Louis, the other in Toronto), you'll regret that.
  19. That isn't the ceiling I'm giving him, that's just what I project him as. A ceiling doesn't really tell us anything.
  20. Ugh.. The Cardinals wouldn't even want to start Brett Lawrie at this point. It's a weird fall, even by blue jay standards.
  21. Calm down, we're all calm.
  22. I thought we had our hands on one of the future 3 or 4 greatest players in the league as recent as 2 years ago. Tough to say what's happened to him, but his lack of power is terrifying. I'm not expecting him to overwhelm in regards to getting on base either so my guess is probably the .270/.340/.420 ish range. A Coco Crisp bat would be great.
