Weaver is turning into a RH Mark Buehrle before our eyes.
Guy has lost his velocity like crazy but just knows how to pitch. Fantastic at changing speeds and mixing pitches. Thing of beauty to watch. That big looping curve is wicked.
He has swing and miss stuff. That slider just falls off the table. If you're going to call for the fastball... paint it on the outside corner against Trout... Stroman can clearly hit his spots.
And then Stroman makes Pujols and Ibanez look stupid.
Pitch calling against Trout might decide this game. Absolutely ridiculous and inexcusable from a veteran catcher.
Like I said earlier, watched some video of him over the last few days and was not impressed at all. Uncoordinated and no explosion.
Maybe he has off-the-charts football IQ. I dunno, didn't follow his career closely at all.
I really credit Michael Sam for his courage to come out BEFORE the draft. Took guts. But it looks like this decision will end up costing him a lot of money.
The sporting world will always be homophobic. Anyone who has ever played organized sports knows what it's like in a locker room. Players can come out and say that they'd welcome the guy with open arms but things are always different when the cameras are off. It's slightly different for Jason Collins because he had already been in the league for a long time and already had established relationships with players and stuff. It's way harder for a newcomer like Sam to come in and be accepted.
Just from watching tape of the guy in his workouts... he doesn't look overly athletic or explosive but definitely is a mid-round talent. He should've been taken by now if it was being based on talent alone.
Take it for what it's worth but Bobcat going on record saying he thinks Leiweke will go hard for Lebron this year:
