  1. Time to show the Orioles that they can't succeed with awful pitchers like Freddy Garcia.
  2. I just can't see them taking on Lee's contract.
  3. Same as in the offseason, I just don't see the Padres trading Headley. They're starting to develop a really nice offensive core that's worth keeping together while they try and bring in some pitching.
  4. Lol... http://www.forums.mlb.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?tsn=1&nav=messages&webtag=ml-bluejays&tid=85731 I guess he's not doin so well anymore.
  5. Agreed, it really isn't a big loss if he gets picked up by another team. I expect he'll get torched sometime in the next couple weeks, in which case he's going to be DFA'd anyway by our reactionary GM, so they might as well just do it now.
  6. Numbers skewed by a terrible April and still his xFIP is only at 4, and he's only pitched 21 innings, so I expect he'll continue to improve. This reminds me of the Buehrle hate earlier in the season. When a guy has been as consistent as Oliver year to year, you should at least give him a chance to right himself before you start bashing him.

  8. Man, double digits, this is getting pretty fun. Oliver got tagged with a home run but also picked up 2 K's. I think he's still a useful arm who can get guys out, just not an elite guy anymore.
  9. Damn right! One of the most enjoyable games of the year.
  10. And now for an actual post...what is up with McLouth suddenly having more walks than strikeouts? Get outta here with that nonsense.
  11. The Orioles lineup doesn't have many holes but Dickey should still be capable of penetrating them, if he's up for it.
  12. We were already playing teams ahead of us all the time, back when we were a bottom-3 team in the league.
  13. Bautista ("he's baaaaaack!")
  14. Yes, but unfortunately not a realistic one. The time to buy low on Martin Prado was two years ago.
  15. I wouldn't say that. He's in his mid 30's now and his stuff has just deteriorated. His contract is only a one year deal with a low base (remember that he was a free agent and they only just brought him back in April) so it's no big loss. Kind of funny how much trouble the Tigers are having with assembling a decent bullpen though. It's like all they know how to do is hand out big multi-year contracts, so they can't seem to fill in the smaller pieces on their roster.
  16. Oswalt in his season debut was really good, and unlucky. 5 IP 9 H 4 ER 0 BB 11 K
  17. Don't you just love this guy?
  18. Good post. Buehrle is giving the Jays exactly what anyone should have expected; he basically has the same season every year. His xFIP is down to 4.24, in line with his career norms. It was laughable how some people were writing off one of the most consistent pitchers in the game after one month.
  19. Right now both of those guys are a bit too shaky, for one reason or another, to be considered upgrades right now. I do like Espinosa as a possible offseason buy-low.
  20. Cecil was almost unfairly good tonight. Every pitch was perfect.
  21. An Utley + Ruiz package would make a lot of sense.
  22. Missed most of this but saw the parts that mattered. Exciting win, and the crowd seemed really into it. Might be going to the game tomorrow, because the Jeff Francis vs. Esmil Rogers pitching matchup is just too compelling. The Jays shouldn't have trouble scoring against Francis; I don't understand how he gets anyone out with the stuff he has these days. I guess he still has the tricky delivery for lefties but our right handed power bats should be able to tee off on him.
