  1. Well you are dumn because half the teams in MLB would sign Bellinger for 8/$160
  2. But you wouldn't accept 8/$160.... again, ridiculous
  3. so you would not be happy with 8/$160..... that's ridiculous
  4. Would you be happy if the Jays sign Bellinger for 8/$160M
  5. Yes but Jays arent exactly in the best position to be making trades. But it's an option, sure.
  6. Depends on team needs. Obviously Hader is far less valuable to the Jays (Romano) then he would be to the Rangers (Leclerc). Hader to the Jays would yield less WAR than Hader to the Rangers. Bellinger is an OF/1B and bats left. He probably yields more value to the Jays than perhaps any other MLB team.
  7. Based on team needs, I would probably rank them as Bellinger, Hoskins, Snell, Montgomery, Stroman
  8. He's one of the few remaining free agents that would really ramp up the Jays 2024 chances.
  9. Well then here's a question for Jaysblue. Would you be happy if Bellinger signs with the Jays for 8/$160M It would shave a fair bit off the financial flexiblity going into 2025
  10. Merry Christmas, Spanky!
  11. The reason we have these circuitous arguments is because they are simply opinions in the absence of the most important input parameter, which is the market (player demands). Jaysblue can opine on 1 year deals and financial flexibility going into next year, which everyone will agree restricts your options and on this basis alone amounts to punting 2024. I can opine on Hoskins and Bellinger on multi year deals, which doesn't punt 2024 and reduces the number of holes on the team going into next offseason. But ultimately the FO decision will be based on the market.
  12. Well exactly right, but this is not what Jaysblue is saying. Also, you didn't mention the Rangers.
  13. Yes Were they in on Ohtani or not?
  14. Unlikely that players that can be had for a 1 year deal are on par with players that command multi year.
  15. Meh, he pulls in at least $30M a year in endorsements
  16. Hoskins and Bellinger are what this team needs
  17. Jays have the cash, take the best of the bunch. No one should be surprised if Bellinger delivers between 4-5 WAR.
  18. I would have never guessed. The team is the current league champion! You are getting a ring.
  19. I'm surprised the Yankees have not signed Bellinger yet. Ultimately that's likely where he ends up.
  20. Hey Soup what was your team name in this league
  21. The NHL does it. Professionals playing in the Swedish Hockey League, probably the top European league, and other professional hockey leagues, are regularly drafted by NHL teams. Compensation has to be worked out with the swedish pro team before the player comes to the NHL, or the player just plays out their swedish league contract, then signs with the NHL team that owns their rights. Far better than the posting system, would you agree?
