  1. Bosox would have to add to that
  2. Kristian Campbell has only been playing 2B so far in ST. Something is up with the Bosox.
  3. a team typically uses 10-15 different pitchers to start games in a year. yariel will get his starts
  4. I dunno. I have fond memories of comp picks.
  5. Roden has excellent plate discipline metrics, the knock has been little power, but last year saw a power boost. Additional gains in the power dept = a solid big leaguer.
  6. We would need to read the actual contract to answer this. For example, it is possible the deferral amount is directly linked to whether Bregman opts out or not.
  7. AI is going to dumb us down even more
  8. Bregman to 2B. The loser here is Kristian Campbell, although he's likely 1st up if there is an injury in the OF or at 2B/SS
  9. Berrios is the lucky recipient of world class defense.
  10. Vlad walking for just a comp pick would be pretty bad, but not as bad as the f***ing Halos holding onto Ohtani at the deadline when they were clearly out of it. Don't do a Halos, Atkins.
  11. Eastcoastjaysfan started that
  12. Thanks. Work on your comprehension.
  13. Well, obviously. I was responding to the post in question that listed 5 events and ended with "playoffs will be easy to make." Nowhere did I give a probability of the Jays making the playoffs, only the probability of all 5 of those events happening at the same time. Context matters.
  14. Rendon + Christian Moore + George Klassen for Miles git'er'done
  15. Anyway this little diversion into cumulative probability just goes to show the inherent randomness of baseball outcomes (unless you are the Dodgers, disrupting the natural order of things)
  16. By the way, did we lose Olerud?
  17. Brownie thumbed this post down. Math of probabilities, if two events have a probability of 50%, the probability that both will occur is 25%. Omar had 5 events. If we make the reasonable (?) assumption that the probability of each is 50%, the probability of all 5 events coming true is .5 x .5 x .5 x .5 x .5 = 3.125% So I was off by 1.125%. Is that the reason for the thumbs down?
  18. Probability of all that happening 2%
  19. Alomar would have gone the way of Wander if he played in this enlightened era
  20. Hang on to him in case MLB adopts a minimum payroll, then ship him to the Marlins
  21. Someone needs to play 3B
  22. Nimmala is generally top ranked of Jays prospects. RT has reliever written all over him. The last few years he's pitched about 40 and 20 innings, respectively, and even with that he can't stay healthy. The chance RT is able to successfully stretch out and be a durable SP is getting rather low. Yesavage would catch their interest for sure, but no pro innings, and pitchers have more variability in results than position players. Which is why you typically don't see many pitchers taken in the 1st round of drafts.
