  1. But you will anyway, you heartless bastard.
  2. Rodon? Huge risk. In any event, right now I would have the Jays ahead of the Yankees.
  3. Not Austin Martin vibes, but they have way more data and as Laika suggested, they may have had him valued less than other teams. Quite possible that Moreno's callup last season, where he played C, LF, 2B, and 3B was a showcase more than anything. Of the 3C, they may have intended to move Moreno all along.
  4. True, but they may have wanted Vladdy less distracted by goofballs.
  5. Good post, but the farm system is not wrecked. It would reasonably be ranked 15-20 in MLB with a lot of interesting talent in the lower levels. Moving Moreno does not equate depleting the farm for win now. It's still very much a team and system built for sustained winning.
  6. To be clear he's a fair bit below average as a C. We won't see him there very much.
  7. It's going to be very enjoyable watching the Jays in 2023. Gonna make a lot of highlight reels. Incredible D if Bo can step it up a notch. Makes a huge difference for the pitching staff. Less 4/5 out innings.
  8. AJ Pollock, or Adam Duvall
  9. Gurriel has to produce or he's riding pine. D'backs still have Carroll, Thomas, McCarthy, Lewis for the OF
  10. Who did the grading? Some of the ESPN writers are absolute morons.
  11. Interesting theorem. Springer in LF, KK in CF, and Varsho in RF, make KK the rover for those heavy pull hitters
  12. I choose the fatty. Which is funny, because you chase fatties around in the bars.
  13. There's no way Teo / Gurriel can deal with that. These moves and the fence changes a pretty clever way to gain a homefield advantage.
  14. Ya. The other part that is relevant is catchers generally don't play more than 60-70% of the games, to manage wear and tear. While a guy like Varsho is going to play every game.
  15. Requesting a poll on this question.
  16. "Sheriff" takes a massive L
  17. lol, only Kiermaier is below league average with the bat
  18. It's interesting that the two main jokesters Teo and Gurriel have been moved. Might be purely a coincidence.
  19. Fantastic, more speed and more balance Two bench spots to be handed out, curious who gets these
  20. Remember Teo is a FA after 2023 and I'm sure the FO did their homework and determined they would not be able to resign him Moreno is a loss, yes, but let's see. Catching is tough and catchers have a way of breaking down and the bat not being as good as advertised.
  21. Springer Bo Vlad Kirk Chapman Varsho Jansen Biggio / Merrifield Kiermaier Espinal, ?, ?
  22. Fantastic move I expect this is the result of weeks of negotiations Jays have an insane lineup now Sign an SP and this is a team built to win
  23. Arbitrator reviewed the evidence and made the determination that the policy was violated and 194 game suspension was appropriate. That is the best judgement we have in the matter, pending the outcome of the civil cases.
  24. To be clear, Bauer's conduct falls under the following: Sexual assault refers to a range of behaviors, including a completed nonconsensual sex act, an attempted nonconsensual sex act, and/or nonconsensual sexual contact. Lack of consent is inferred when a person uses force, harassment, threat of force, threat of adverse personnel or disciplinary action, or other coercion, or when the victim is asleep, incapacitated, unconscious or legally incapable of consent. The necessary element is the absence of consent. This isn't broad, but a specific required element.
