  1. Ok, so who in their right mind would believe that current Jays' ownership would be interested in a full rebuild when they've never gone through with one in their history as owners of the team? Live in reality people. Rogers bought the Jays to provide content for their tv channels. The moves after the 2012 off season were largely made to avoid going into 2013 with the expectation of losing 90+ games, maybe 100. They're always stuck in the middle, when they get too close to a rebuilding team (i.e. awful team), they go out and throw some money around. When they get good enough to contend, they pull back and don't push forward. Anyway, we'll see what happens.
  2. Jays need a long term SS.
  3. What if he's JJ.2? The guy is 35 with a wanky elbow and is owed 38M for next year, wouldn't touch. Speaking of this, I've gotta work that injury risk in to my projections system, be right back...
  4. Gotta be honest, it's something I've gotta work on, but I can guarantee my projection system (dubbed The Nik) is far more advanced than The Best....
  5. I'm in that camp. I only go by my own projections now. I'm doing alright this year as I thought everyone was overrating the Yanks, Red Sox and Rays...but anyway...
  6. What's Buehrle's projected salary for 2016? I think that's part of what TL is pointing out.
  7. Alright, we'll see what happens.
  8. Interest is one thing, taking on all of that contract is a whole other one.
  9. Hence why I said 'huge expansion'...lol.
  10. Cliff Lee has an elbow injury at 35 years of age. I doubt anyone would be willing to take on all of that contract....ok, maybe the Yanks.
  11. We'll have to wait and see, but I doubt they take on much $ if they do anything at all. Maybe a Chase Headley, but I doubt they'd take on Prado. They'd have to find a way to offset salary by including Santos or maybe Rasmus. We'll see...
  12. Seems like fuzzy math to me.
  13. Except there's no evidence Rogers is willing to risk any more money. Chances are, they won't add an impact player and they have 3 of their top 6 hitters out until August so their playoff chances won't be improved by that much. Remember, AA started last off season talking about having money to spend only to end up talking about how the value didn't line up and having to reportedly ask players to defer salary. The money ain't there.
  14. Problem is her nipples are too salty....once is enough for me.
  15. I remember suggesting he had been hired by the Blue Jays when they had that huge expansion of their stats dept from 1 to 2 employees.
  16. I think he specifically said "Were not going to get a teams top guy but a nice attractive package". The Marlins found a GM to take him with 3 years left on his contract, including the most expensive years, I'd like to think the Jays GM can get something decent for him.
  17. Last thing this F/O needs to do is to make a trade to please Bautista or any other player.
  18. For the record, I don't mind selling and going for a rebuild. However, there's no evidence that the people who own this team have the stomach to go into next year expecting to lose 100 games. If they did, they wouldn't have made the moves they made in November/December 2012.
  19. 1. The people who own the team do. 2. Legit point, must be taken into consideration. 3. Who has been awful all season? Surely you're not referring to the Blue Jays. 4. They should go after Headley who shouldn't cost much and try and get a long term fix at SS in the off season. 5. I'm not totally against trading Buehrle (or Dickey for that matter), but it won't happen. If he has a decent 2nd half, he may still be attractive to some teams in the off season. Same applies to Dickey.
  20. Very true. I'm hoping guys like Burns, Jimenez and Pillar at least become good backups. Same with Nolin and a guy like Boyd on the pitching side.
  21. That's true. I always try to remind myself of the reports of Lawrie's D. Hopefully, they're right for once....
  22. His BB% in the minors proves this in a bigger SS. His D and high success rate in SB also bode well for him.
