  1. I believe AA is best-suited to be an assistant GM so that's where I think he could land. Maybe he'd get another shot in a few years.
  2. I can't say I'm sure. I just think that even if he was told to improve the team at any cost, he still should've negotiated a better deal with the Marlins either in terms of prospects given up or in $ sent back by them. I do believe the reports (Davidi and Lott's book), that he went after Anibal Sanchez and Jake Peavy before going back to the Marlins to talk about JJ in a somewhat desperate spot given that they decided they couldn't go into 2013 expecting to lose 95 or 100 games. However, as said above, he's gotta be held accountable for negotiating the trade.
  3. Seems like a special night for Jones.
  4. Showing some flashes. Could it be that player development is improving? Look at Norris, Labourt, Perdomo, maybe Smoral....all LHP's too! LOL, what am I saying, it can't be.
  5. I have always given AA a pass for Escobar because of the homophobic slur, but no one forced him to take on Reyes and Buehrle's contracts and max out the payroll. Similarly, no one put a gun to his head to get RAD. It's quite conceivable he could've gotten a younger pitcher for Syndergaard and D'Arnaud. Anyway....
  6. You mean you saw him pitch in HS? It has to be since he debuted in 2013 and threw all of 25.2 IP. He's still walking batters, but is showing improvement. His K% is terrific of course which tells you the stuff is there. Long term project, risky project, but as said above, is showing some improvement. By the way, final line: 5IP, 2H, 1ER, 1BB, 9K.
  7. Maybe these decisions were made above him or against his advice. It seems Gibbons has been asking for Sanchez for a while the same way he kept asking for McGowan to be moved to the bullpen. It looks like he'll get his wish.
  8. Well, Janssen, Rasmus and Cabrera are FA at the end of the season, so it wouldn't be such a bad idea to see what they could get for them in the next week and a half.
  9. I'm already chillaxed. It's all true anyway, nothing wrong with pointing it out.
  10. Not all players act this way. Look at the Lo Viste antics last year. It's just annoying. Win something and then you can celebrate, but to each his own. And yes, I also laugh about it, I don't take it all that seriously, it's a mere annoyance. The team has several unlikable players, it is what it is.
  11. Biggest problem was trading the prospects for old and expensive pitchers. Plus, I always felt they shouldn't have had to give up as much as they did in the Marlins trade because of the contracts they took on. The Dickey trade was just dumb. And yes, I understand that had they not tried to improve the team in the 2012 off season, they would've gone into 2013 expected to lose 95, maybe 100, games. However, this doesn't excuse them for making bad moves and overpaying. Anyway....
  12. Yeah, that's the thing, it's annoying, but this is the team the assembled.
  13. LOL, to be expected, the resident Blue Jays homer to the rescue. It's mostly a couple of them, like Navarro and Reyes, who play bad defense and celebrate hits as a big f***ing deal. How about they concentrate on their deficient defense instead...
  14. I can't stand this team's celebrations after a freakin' single or they score a run, especially coming from guys like Navarro and Reyes.
  15. Yup, they won't win every game, you got me there.
  16. Yup, which is another reason I, and many others, were shocked that he'd trade for old and expensive pitchers like Buehrle and Dickey. We'll see what happens.
  17. Plus they're the O's, they just win baby!
  18. You seem less tolerant of this FO lately, what made you lose whatever confidence you had left in them?
  19. Navarro's contract isn't big enough to preclude the Jays from playing Kratz more. And yes Navarro is terrible, but people go overboard, that's the point, especially when they blame pitch calling when a pitcher hangs a slider in the middle of the plate and it gets hit.
  20. Believe "them", if it wasn't for Navarro, Jays' pitchers wouldn't give up any runs.
  21. I love Stroman and Hutchison, but Hutchison's had a TJS already, if some team made a great offer, I'd at least listen on either of them.
  22. I don't think this starts with AA, but we'll see what happens.
