  1. Imagine if they hadn't made those trades in 2012...Syndergaard, Stroman, Hutchison, Norris, Sanchez. Plus a likely top 5 pick in the 2014 and 2015 drafts. How high is Norris's value now and what could he get you in a trade? Not saying trade him, but maybe consider trading Hutchison in the off season? Certainly don't want AA making these types of moves, but the team will need to get creative. Well, we said this last off season so don't hold your breath.
  2. Agreed. This is why I believe it's moot to worry about who the GM is when the franchise is run this way. It made 0 sense to go "all in" after the 2012 season. The only way it made some sort of sense was if you were hellbent on not going into 2013 being expected to lose 90-100 games.
  3. Clearly. He should be 2-2 with a 2B and a HR....But seriously, probably, but not based on the 2 AB's.
  4. Could someone do some research into whether or not there have been delivery chances made to Happ's delivery? Thanks...
  5. He's bigger and stronger than last year and has softer hands than he used to.
  6. One could say if you took away 3 of the O's top 6 hitters, their line up would suffer, but who knows maybe they have clones for their top hitters stashed away in AAA.
  7. I agree. I've had my freakouts during the season, especially in April, but the team has hung in there and battled. Gotta hand it to them and I've felt this way before today's win.
  8. I was at work and the thing that gave me some hope was Price's pitch count in the 4th. I think they didn't score, but made him work and ran it up.
  9. What's that worth? My guess: 1M more annually.
  10. And Norris today in his AAA debut: 6-IP, 2-H, 0-ER, 1-BB, 10-K. Pompey could start 2015 at Buffalo as well. Nolin, Pillar, Jimenez and Burns could also be decent depth guys. We'll see what happens, but things aren't looking as dire as some thought.
  11. Daniel Norris.
  12. That was huge. I can imagine the ratings may go back up to the levels they hit when they swept the top-10 Red Sox at Fenway.
  13. Just take it all in and enjoy the tension of a playoff push, even if we'd all prefer that they get closer to the O's. Even if it's not the most efficiently assembled team, it is what it is, nothing I or anyone here can do about that, it's the way the owners of the franchise are allowing it to be run. We'll see what happens...stay calm though
  14. Thing is, they were down by 5 today against David Price and they won the game...could easily say this one should've been a loss. Take the 2 of 3 and move on..
  15. Team keeps battling, despite what some say about them, they're still in the race despite the ups and downs. At least they're only facing King Felix next
  16. Great wins Saturday and Sunday!!!! Getting closer to EE and Lind's return (hope I didn't jinx them)...
  17. What a job by Jenkins....if only the offense would stop sucking...
  18. Bautista's had a pretty bad day at the dish today, just sayin'.
  19. Rasmus should've given himself a chance for a 3B, but....what can you do.
  20. Well, since Francisco was up next, maybe Gibbons was trying to create a hole like in the previous AB when he sent the runners which may have prevented the Tigers' 3B from getting to Cabrera's grounder. At the end of the day, Bautista struck out when he should've walked, and I know it's easy to say from here. Even if Reyes had made it, I'm not very confident in Francisco getting a hit to bring Reyes home. On the other hand, you still want that chance instead of the strike'em out throw'em out DP...
  21. So maybe that's why the runners were sent since Francisco sucks.
