  1. They didn't go after Martin 2 years ago when they made the flashy moves and had Arencibia. I think they view Navarro as their everyday C so I don't see this FO making these types of moves. I'm often wrong though, so there's still hope.
  2. So if they got Mayberry Jr. to platoon with Lind, what the f*** did they get Valencia for? Seems like AA is now obsessed with platoons...
  3. It sure would. However, finding this 1B is the key. Not to mention how much it would co$t to acquire such a player. This FO couldn't plug the 2B hole last off season and barely improved the C position yet some think it's capable of plugging the existing holes plus a newly-created one. Don't hold your breath.
  4. Gotta love where he put all 3 of those pitches. Right on the edges.
  5. Welcome to last offseason....don't hold your breath.
  6. Or maybe he won't fire Boras and we won't have a shot. Boy I didn't know hes been this bad. Imagine if AA had signed him and Jimenez....people would be a little bit more pissed...
  7. Pretty irrelevant since they didn't poll MLB FA which I thought was the issue being discussed, but I may still be half asleep.
  8. I'm all for upgrading the SP, but this team has so little budget room, if any, that it might be better off getting 3 players for the price of 1 SP. In reality, I highly doubt they'll address the defensive issues. AA said this past off season that he wanted to upgrade the D and went on to sign Navarro and pick up guys like Francisco and Valencia during the season. It just doesn't seem to me like they appreciate the value of defense.
  9. I guess I should've said 'he should be a starter next season'. We'll see what happens.
  10. Sanchez will be a starter next season, I don't know why this keeps being brought up.
  11. I hope some of this happens, but it won't. I suspect AA will be let go at the end of the season and the Rogers guy has frozen most moves, not that AA would do any of this on his own anyway.
  12. Morrow and Romero's implosions (injury or performance wise), has been a huge blow to this franchise. Too bad, but s*** happens and you shouldn't overpay in trades to try to compensate for it...well, too late now.
  13. Also, the bigger issue is that your boy AA has no appreciation for defense and how important it is. He's picked up nothing but defensively challenged players and this after he said at the end of last season and during the off season that he was looking to improve it. Now, you can't possibly try to spin this and find a way to blame Beeston for this. At least, I hope you don't even try.
  14. No. Prove that he got in shape and that's why he had an ok year with the Cubs in a back up role. You're obsessed with him. He's a bad catcher, but it's not necessarily because he's fat. Jose Molina is fat, yet is in MLB only because of his defense. I'd bet the Rays and Dodgers got rid of him because he was a bad catcher, not because of his shape. Just google pics of him as a Cub in 2013 and you'll see he was the same guy. He's just a bad catcher.
  15. Prove it or you're obsessed with Navarro.
  16. What I don't get is why Baretto wasn't promoted.
  17. Not even the GM that signed him was excited about him. If you want to feel good by gloating over something noone gives a f*** about, go ahead, but Navarro's a bad catcher because he's a bad catcher, not necessarily 'cause he's fat or Jose Molina would suck balls since he's f***ing fatter. Anyway, at least you took some shots at AA instead of always blaming Beeston for everything AA has done wrong.
  18. Oh, I know why you're suggesting signing him. I only mentioned his Canadianness in trying to think of reasons the Jays would sign him given that they don't seem to understand the important of defense so I figured they could sign him because he's Canadian and to help mitigate the P.R. hit they'd take by trading Bautista.
  19. I've been suggesting trading a guy like Bautista for 2 or more young players either ready for MLB or on the cusp. Not claiming I was the first at all, just to make it clear. It would definitely be a huge P.R. hit though and I don't think this franchise operates this way. If he asked for a trade, it would make it easier. Interestingly, I see that some have suggested signing Russell Martin. Imagine having potentially 3 starting Canadian position players!!! It may be enough to make up for the P.R. hit they'd take by trading Bautista.
  20. Wallace 3 HR today, including walk-off GS in the 12th....LOL. The Ninja built a contender...too bad it's in Buffalo.
  21. It's sad how the media don't point out that the Jays claimed they were gonna focus more on defense this year yet they've picked up nothing but defensive butchers. Anyway, seemed like 2 mediocre teams trying to gift the game away to the other team, one team was just a little unluckier than the other.
  22. Fair enough. I don't have a huge issue with it, I'd just prefer that they sent him home once the AAA season's done.
  23. And hopefully, one of the candidates for closer in 2015, along with other cheap options.
  24. Agreed which is why I said 'you have to recognize he hasn't been pitching well'. In fairness, any of the Jays' relievers could blow up at any time.
  25. What I see from Janssen is a lot of pitches up and over the plate. When he's "right", his pitches are knee high and on the corners, give or take an inch in or out of the strike zone.
