It may mean that his bosses aren't that concerned with building or sustaining a playoff team. That's all I keep trying to point out. As much as some fret over AA, I'm more concerned with how the owners or the owner's representatives (i.e. the team prez), want the team to be run. So far, they've shown to be more interested in P.R. and tv ratings than in having the best-run MLB team on the planet which is what you and others keep whining about.
The moment this team's owners decide they want the best-run baseball team is the moment AA or whomever the GM is at such time, will strive to achieve the owner's goal. If they don't get it done, out the door they go.
The Rays' success starts with Sternberg and not with Friedman, same with the Cards. At least IMO.
