  1. An organization also has to have patience to wait for its prospects to arrive at the MLB level. If they're not willing to take a few losing seasons to wait out their prospects, they'll likely end up trading away some players they will later on wish they hadn't traded.
  2. Who knows, maybe he's posting as jaysrays and Tabler is high85.
  3. I usually watch the games with no sound to avoid listening to Buck and Tabler, but since it's ST, I thought what the heck. Well, heck, Buck is in mid-season form.
  4. Another good job by Navarro on a pitch he had to reach for.
  5. s***, forgot about Yadier, I was only thinking of Jose and Bengie, lol.
  6. Is he fatter than the Molina bros? Baseball should celebrate it's fatties, kind of like the NFL does on Turkey-Eating Day showing them O' and D' linemen stuffing their faces with turkey!
  7. Some thoughts on Navarro's catching: I've seen 3 of 4 pitches called for strikes when Navarro was setting up on one corner, but the pitch ended up on the opposite corner and he had to reach out to catch it and was quiet enough to get the call. Full SSS-caution in effect, but just something I noticed.
  8. Thanks for the advice, but I do get along with everyone. I think I'd give these guys 3 or 4 outings before worrying about velocity and such things that's all.
  9. Talk about overreactions on this board, at times it feels like the MLB board, seriously.
  10. Jays wanted to replace JP with guy who was his opposite in many ways, including sexyness.
  11. If I was Buck's age, Redmond would seem like a young pitcher to me too!
  12. Redmond doesn't have much today. Hutchison with the very early lead.
  13. Pretty good, but I'd like to see Hutchison start for a month in AAA.
  14. So this will now give a spot to one of the optionless guys...gotta look at the positive side of things!
  15. Not only this, but Hirshbeck and Alomar became friends later on and Hirshbeck forgave Alomar. So it seems Alomar atoned for his mistake and if the victim forgave him and has publicly said Alomar is a good person, that's good enough for me.
  16. Lawrie has averaged 116 (125+107) games played in the last 2 years if you take out the 43 he played in 2011. Evan Longoria has averaged 122 games played in the last 3 years (133+74+160). Not that different, but let's face it, this team badly needs Brett Lawrie to break out or come close to his potential very soon.
  17. There's no doubt he wasn't back at 100%, but I don't know, I would think running on that carpeted cement floor would be tough on your joints. We'll have to wait and see. I do like the underdog attitude some of the players are taking although who knows if it helps at all.
  18. Let's not forget that they lost 89 games in 2012, but I don't think they were expected to lose that many games going into the season, in fact, there was a lot of excitement about how the team was coming together at the start of the season. It's much different to go into a season being expected to lose 90+ games with a chance at 100 losses, that's just not what the Jays are about. They're about having decent teams, good enough to attract enough viewers for RSN, but not good enough to win it all. I think the mandate was to improve the team, especially the decimated starting rotation and to "not strike out" in doing so. Remember, they were rumoured to have been in on JJ in July 2012 and maybe AA wasn't ready to give up the package the Marlins wanted. Then they reportedly struck out on Peavy and Sanchez, so I could see AA going back to the Marlins in a bad spot. At the end of the day, I could live with the Marlins trade because of the need to improve the rotation in particular and because there's no doubt in my mind that it was decided Escobar would be off the team one way or another. The Dickey trade was just stupid, AA just accepted the rationale that there's a certain price that you have to pay for a CY winner without much of a fight and I think he even said so. I have to admit that I picked the team to win between 86-92 games and to certainly be in contention in September....tells you how much I know.
  19. Too bad for Getz Goins has already been announced as the 2B
  20. Low to mid 90's. His slider is as advertised and the radar's been showing a pitch at 60-63 MPH which must be an error since I can't figure out what pitch that would be.
  21. Same applies to Stroman even though he gave up 2 runs. Lough got on an infield hit and I thought Cruz may have gone aorund on the 3-2 pitch, but Thole didn't even ask for an appeal to the 1b umpire so I guess not. I thought Stroman nibbled a bit too much with the slider against Cruz and Davis until he hung one. Overall, good showing from both.
  22. Hutchison has such a nice combination of command and stuff.
