  1. It works both ways, if he started the first 4-5 weeks pitching well, you know some would be rubbing it in the Jays' face.
  2. That's the thing, he was also upset that reporters wrote that he wanted McGowan in the bullpen and not as a starter. He said he's on board with stretching him out. AA and him need to learn to not stick their foot in their mouths. More AA than Gibbons, but still.
  3. Maybe, let's hope it all works out, I'm looking forward to the season.
  4. The Jays still traded assets for a year of him so they must've liked something about him. I guess his injury history prior to the date of the trade were not relevant to the Jays. Let's face it, it's not like they spent the $14M elsewhere on the ball club.
  5. Gibbons said Goins was his 2b then got upset because reporters took that as confirmation that Goins was officially named the starter at 2b. LOL, who the heck knows, let's hope it means they'll sign Drew
  6. No surprise on JJ, wish him the best. I was for qualifying him, but the Jays dodged a bullet there, better lucky than good I guess. They should've used the money to address 2b and the bench, but it is what it is.
  7. Boras using Gammons to drum up interest? That's not a bad offer, is it? IF true, of course.
  8. Now they're reportedly looking to trade Gregorius for SP help after getting him in exchange for a young SP. They're going round n' round.
  9. For sure, there's no benefit to the team that would sign him. In fact, if you won't have the chance to qualify him and possibly get back your draft pick, you might be better off waiting till after the draft to sign him.
  10. Yup, only about a week till OD, unless they get multi-year contract offers for what the were looking for, they'll just wait till after OD so they're not subject to a QO next off season.
  11. Nope. If he signs after Opening Day, he would not be subject to a QO next off season, but the team that signs him would still forfeit a draft pick in the upcoming draft.
  12. I read on MLBtr that Drew wants to wait till after opening day so there is no QO for next year.
  13. Redmond seemed to run out of gas, pitches were running over the middle of the plate instead of where Thole was set up. It's all part of building up the pitch count, he's gotta go through it to be able to throw more pitches in his next outing. He is what he is, a #5 or spot starter/long reliever. Hopefully they keep him or some team trades for him as SP depth.
  14. All is set up for him to stink it up on his first start against the Rays, the way it goes for the Jays.
  15. Hopefully Puig puts on a bit of a show....and I don't mean driving his toy cars...lol. I'm thinking one of the games could be a blowout for the Dodgers, unless Gibson ball takes over.
  16. I think he made this clear last year's ST....he's a BIG league pitcher!
  17. I hope they give these people some exciting games, my sources tell me ticket prices are through the roof.
  18. Yup, this topic is front and centre on SN's website and a few other sites. Anyway, I'm sure he'll be sent to minor league soon. Gibbons already said he's just at ML camp for experience.
  19. Nothing funny about it, there's a number of fans now thinking that Sanchez is the best option for the rotation...kind of sad really, lol.
  20. I'm also hoping it's because they want to work with him on improving his command although I think I'd want him as far away from Pete Walker as possible. Let the guy who worked with Norris last year work with Sanchez.
  21. Maybe Sanchez is still in big league camp to be showcased for teams to be traded for immediate help? I mention this because I think he should've been sent to minor league camp a week ago.
  22. Bottomline is that BOTH Syndergaard and Sanchez should be Jays prospects right now. AA got bent over, we all know it and let's hope he knows it, especially if he's to continue as the Jays GM into the future. What's impressive is the number of young arms they have. Norris seemed to turn a corner last year, he's one to watch this year, remember, he's gonna start at Dunedin, so he could get promoted midseason to AA and start next year in AAA. The younger guys going to Lansing will be key, but you also have Hollon and Castro probably in Bluefields. No doubt Syndergaard's a stud. I even think some of his stats in 2012 didn't look as good because I seem to remember that he didn't pitch as well when he came into the game as a reliever back when he was being piggybacked. Anyway...
  23. So why would a dumb organization pursue a guy with a 4.34 ERA?
