  1. At least a month.
  2. He does have a trade clause and he did say he wants to play for a perennial contender.
  3. I'm fine with Janssen giving up runs in a game like this. Gotta get them out of your system.
  4. Reyes took that on a short hop from Rasmus which didn't leave him in a good position to throw home. He's been terrible, but that was Gentry running.
  5. My fear is they may not win another game before the break.
  6. True. On the other hand, how many teams can afford his contract? Maybe the Red Sox get involved? Not sure, I'd have to take a look around the league to see which teams would both be interested and have what it would take to land him.
  7. If the team is not going to trade for help soon and it continues to flounder, I think AA should see what the market is for Dickey and if a decent offer is made, just bite the bullet.
  8. It doesn't matter. The issue is the way the team is playing and the injuries. If the team gets some help (Prado/Headley), and gets relatively healthy, it'll have a chance. Big IFs, of course.
  9. Dejong with a decent outing: 5IP, 4H, 1ER, 0BB, 4K, 3GO/1FO.
  10. I agree, which is why I said it would be an accomplishment. I'm really not surprised they're in danger of hitting the break below at .500 or below given how they've played the last month. What looked like a slump against the Cards and Twins turned out to be a major slide coupled with the injuries. Once they lost 3 straight against the White Sox at home, I looked at this road trip and thought they'd be in deep s***. We'll see what happens.
  11. This is what's so frustrating for many. It also makes an overpayment more likely with all the injuries. We'll have to wait and see, but at this point, winning 3 of the next 7 would be an accomplishment.
  12. Pretty much agree. The fact that AZ is paying some of McCarthy's remaining salary makes me think they'd be willing to pay some of Prado's. Like you, I don't think the Jays have much budget room if any at all. Maybe the D-Backs can add a prospect for the Jays to take on all of Prado's $? At this point, nothing would surprise me coming from the KT.
  13. I'm sure AA has some balls in the air....funny thing they seem to be gravity-defying balls since they never seem to come down.
  14. I just hope AA hasn't painted himself into a corner where he ends up getting bent over again.
  15. DFA Gillespie?
  16. Of course you'll hang around in games when your pitching staff gives up 5 or fewer runs.
  17. I think I threw out there yesterday acquiring both Prado and McCarthy in the same deal! The D-Backs are even paying part of the remaining $...lol. I have no clue what AA is doing 'cause we know he ain't doing s***. And for the homers, I'm not talking about stupid trades, I'm talking about trades like the title of this thread. Let's face it, this sets the price very low for Prado/Hill given the type of season they're having and even lower for a rental like Headley although that's a different GM in SD.
  18. Hopefully, you can start you're basketball forum so you can talk about them there. Good luck to them.
  19. What's more frustrating is that we all know a SS/2B and RH bat should've been acquired in the off season via FA, even AA said so. Failure to address these issues is a fireable offense in my opinion.
  20. I was certainly joking with Ang since he likes to joke around. I did say 'Why do I feel like I said this several times in 2013 already?', when I talked about getting a SS (not a 2B), and a RH platoon for Lind. All good though, no biggie.
  21. Way to go out on a limb there amigo.
  22. Yes, 2 in fact. A SS to play 2B till Reyes feels embarrassed enough to move off SS and a RH platoon partner for Lind. Why do I feel like I said this several times in 2013 already?
  23. You simply cannot count on these 9 guys being healthy at the same time for any significant period of time. They just have too many guys with a checkered injury history and low and behold, history is repeating itself.
  24. No doubt, but why try to sign a FA or 2 when you can give up a prospect or 2 to get to pay Martin Prado 20+M over the next 2+ seasons?
