  1. I'm sure everyone is a bit jealous of the size of your e-cawk, to be honest.
  2. I don't think I've ever known a Nick that I've liked. It's our generation's Aiden.
  3. Those of us in the AL East could not be less inconvenienced by this.
  4. You're alive! Dinger was preparing your RIP thread.
  5. No, it's not that simple. I think OF who aren't Pompey, Saunders, Pillar, or Bautista will get several hundred PA. There are currently none in the org better than replacement level. And I don't think Saunders should be relied on at all, especially not as the 4th OF.
  6. I'm assuming they like the remaining OF options more than the remaining bullpen options.
  7. I think it's more like 1-2 wins subtracted from the outfield and added to the pen.
  8. AA was good at some things. He wasn't good at being a GM. Giving him an opportunity to do the things he's good at while giving him almost no power to let his significant weaknesses do damage seems like a reasonable move, if his ego stays in check.
  9. I was stooping to the level of the post I quoted.
  10. I'm wondering how the AA fanboys are reconciling the fact that the man they hate so much was able to get their man crush to accept a demotion and be his 4th in command.
  11. Did nobody tell you?
  12. Does this mean Boxy is going to spend the next four pages calling me out?
  13. I don't negotiate contracts or anything, but it seems obvious that you'd tell him that LF is his for the taking, with only an unproven rookie in-house. And I have no idea if he's interested in signing here. All I said was that he makes a ton of sense for the team.
  14. I mentioned this another thread, but I think he's a perfect fit. If Pompey plays the way everyone hopes, Jackson is a fourth OF who can play all three spots, pinch run, and hit at close to an average level. He can also fill in for long stretches and probably play at a 2-win pace at all three OF spots. If Pompey disappoints, Jackson is there as probably a 2-win LF. It also protects the team from actually relying heavily on Saunders. As the 5th OF, they can pick their spots with him and ease him back in. I wonder if he signs for something like 2/15?
  15. Cyborg's posts over the last three pages should result in a lifetime ban from the DDL.
  16. No, not in this league but almost half of BORED is co-managed. North can't manage for the next little while, so GD is taking over temporarily so North can have his team back when he's less busy. I didn't know before today that King, Ace, or Orgfiller were even co-managers.
  17. I don't actually believe that co-managers had anything to do with his decision, but if this puts an end to teams being run by committee, there's a silver lining to him leaving. I always thought the saltiness was temporary, but it looks like the salt won. RIP silvergun
  18. I don't really understand why people keep talking about a hole being filled, without mentioning that one of a similar size was opened up. Another shoe has to drop before this can be called a positive, but until that happens they've subtracted 1-2 outfield wins and added them to the pen. That's fine, but the team isn't better. Yet. I guess it's likely that Storen at 1/8 was better than the free agent relief market, and they think they can add an OF more efficiently than they would have been able to add a reliever. I hope this is the case.
  19. The thought of not having to watch RA Dickey pitch anymore is pretty exciting. And Josh Thole can GTFO too.
  20. Or, less sexy: I wonder how cheap Austin Jackson will be? He'd make a pretty good 4th OF. If he doesn't make more than Revere, flipping Revere off for Storen and then signing Jackson would be a nice sequence.
  21. Washington is covering the difference in salary.
  22. Value in a vacuum is probably a wash. One year left for each, equal salary, both will project to be worth the same +/- a few runs.
  23. Someone better would be preferable. As things stand their everyday LF is completely unproven at the major league level, their 4th OF just missed the entire season because he got his meniscus removed, and there isn't a 5th OF in the org you'd expect to be better than replacement. Storen is good, and the pen looks better now, obviously, but as things stand the OF needs to be addressed.
  24. There had better be a viable OF added before the season starts.
  25. I wonder where Maeda goes. Before the details of his contract, I would have expected top-100 if he had signed for what he was projected to get, but he'll definitely fall lower than that now.
