Pretty shrewd move by Gibbers, selling Capps off for MiLB 20 and 42. He'll be a tough keep next year - you have to question whether he's capable of pitching effectively for a full season. Basically picked up two decent picks with no value lost.

I really don't like this. Pompey is almost certainly better than Lake and Carrera, and a team's 4th OF gets almost full PT. If everyone is healthy: Pompey starts 1-2 games a week in LF and Saunders sits against tough lefties. Pompey starts 1-2 games a week in CF and Pillar gets a breather against top righties. Pompey starts 1-2 games a week in RF and Bautista moves to DH or 1B. And then you have pinch running/hitting duties, and more starts as guys get banged up.

Projections have him at like 265/320/345. Stealing 30 bases and scoring 80 runs won't undo the damage done to SLG and the fact that he won't contribute in HR or RBI.

Of course they were. And why would he expect any different? He completely threw team ownership under the bus to the media to try to make himself sympathetic to the fans and improve his bargaining leverage. Ownership responded with a similar tactic, and now he's offended? He lost this fight.

Pretty solid career. Over 900 games, worth about 10 wins. He made the most of a pretty limited set of tools. That's said, I'm happy we don't have to see him again.

Dodgers are saying that May is probably the earliest we see Ryu now. I'm not sure how this is possible given that Boxy assured me there was no reason to doubt his health this season.

The most interesting thing about Puig is that some people (JFaS) are comfortable saying that he outright suxxxxx. Everyone knows about the red flags, but there's enough there in his performance and obvious raw talent that I have a hard time believing that there are numbers so damning that someone can authoritatively state that he's not a good player.
