I really don't like that as justification for the trade. Gibby works for Shatkins. If he's using Hendriks in low-leverage spots in April you call him up and tell him to stop doing that.

Like $30M tied up in Nolasco, Milone, and Santana while Duffey, May, and Berrios are excluded from the rotation.

They didn't seem to mind when they tendered him a contract. Why lose an arm you like a bit when you can just option Venditte for a few weeks until someone gets hurt?

They thought enough of Delabar to tender him this offseason. I think it's more likely that Venditte gets optioned than Delabar gets DFA'd.

Has Yahoo ever explained why they haven't incorporated IR+ to baseball? Easy fix THAT THEY ALREADY DO FOR HOCKEY, but for some reason baseball players aren't hurt unless they're on the DL.
