He's probably the most boring regular on the team. He's been here almost two full years, but does anyone actually give half a s*** about Justin Smoak? He just kind of takes up space.

Projections have him at ~95 wRC+. I don't really understand the desire to have that taking up space for the next two years.

I feel bad for him. He might be costing himself close to 20M with this brutal season. -
I've thought before that he might shy aware from his 4SM fastball because he's concerned about all three of a) the pitch's lack of movement, the lack of downward plane because of his height, and c) the decline in velo. We don't really know that it wouldn't get hit hard if he started using it often.

I'd be suprised if they move him. 1-2 wins from the pen is a pretty good outcome for a guy who might have high risk mechanics.

Rushed to AA for no reason. Rushed to MLB for no reason. Now he's probably a long-term reliever because his results have been predictably bad.

The draft begins Monday, July 18th at 8AM. There will be 12-hour windows. Any cuts must be made before 8AM on Monday morning, and extra picks evaporate at the start of the draft.
