  1. It's too bad that people are throwing names like Bregman and Benintendi around. Hopefully the media doesn't start doing it and set everyone up for disappointment when the return is only built around top-10-15 prospect and not a guy who would be consensus #1 if he were eligible for lists.
  2. Not a Boston move to give up a hugely valuable young MLB contributor with elite upside to save 45M over a 2.5 year stretch. I just don't think saving that cash moves the needle much for Boston when it comes to building a deal around him or guys like Groome and Devers. Players like Benintendi don't really ever get traded.
  3. Juan Soto taking a run at #1 overall in our draft this year?
  4. That's not a very Boston move. Sandoval has negative value, but I don't see the Red Sox pushing the return to Benintendi level to rid themselves of his contract. As the headliners of a deal, I think you'd be looking more at something like Groome and Devers, or Conforto and Rosario.
  5. I think you're overstating Donaldson's value throwing out names like Bregman and Benintendi. I think you're looking at the tier just below that as headliners for a possible deal.
  6. Travis probably shouldn't be here right now. He's not close to right.
  7. Because he's been a really good player when healthy.
  8. Pillar has been so good with that new approach. Gruber92 is a genius.
  9. f*** the booze hounds
  10. They've done a beautiful job trying to extend the window without actually borrowing anything from the future. Letting Price and EE go, trading nothing but useless shitbags from the farm, not offering long term deals in free agency etc... they've clearly prepared for a situation where AA's old as s*** core blows up, and it will be interesting to see the pivot if it happens this year.
  11. Brook Jacoby was hired before the 2015 season. I'll present this without further comment: http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=bat&lg=all&qual=0&type=8&season=2017&month=0&season1=2015&ind=0&team=0,ts&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0&sort=16,d
  12. This feels weird to type, but Jason Vargas has been absolutely dominant.
  13. If the team does have a down period, the new regime will be crucified by the casuals and media, and AA will be hailed as a hero who never should have been pushed out.
  14. AA got out just in time if all these old guys actually play like old guys this year.
  15. Good job King
  16. Wow, you won't even criticize Smoak. You're such a goddamn professional.
  17. Robert Gsellman maybe isn't an ace?
  18. Smoak, Carrera, Goins, and Saltalamacchia. 4 of the 13 bats don't really belong on an MLB roster, and there aren't even injuries that lead to this. Very frustrating.
  19. Carrera leading off is so bad
  20. The troll accounts I spent all week creating are ready to go and behind 7 proxies. So good luck, and RIP Barry.
