So Edwin Encarnacion has only been a hair above replacement level this year. Almost two years into his 3/60 deal he's been worth 2.9 fWAR. Signing Morales to replace him was a mistake, but letting him walk in the first place was not.
The playoff race is crazy. The 9th place team is 34 games over 0.500, and 10th is 21 games over 0.500. DDL has the same settings, and 9th place is 2 games under 0.500. A good team is going to miss the playoffs.
I don't understand why he's attacking the fans for wanting their favourite team to make the best decisions they can under the rules of the CBA. His issue is with the CBA itself.
