  1. The next time someone asks me a question at work I’m dropping “Math variables, bro?”

And suddenly a piece of pleasant news to ease my pain.

The team is playing Washington in their second game in two days and Chabot is out. Kid is about to see more rubber than Dr.Dinger after a night out on the town.

Haven't really watched the Leafs lately. How has Nylander been playing?
  5. L54’s brother is in. Just waiting on one of Jim’s guys then we can get going.
  6. We saw the worst case scenario play out with Garcia and there was no real damage done, which was a big part of the reason why people liked the signing.
  7. I guess our disagreement stems from the fact that I don't think SRF would be hurt by making 5-10 starts in AAA in his age-23 season. If he's the 6th starter on the team, he'll be relied on heavily. Pannone, I just don't really care about at all. If he has an MLB career it's going to be in low-leverage relief or bouncing around the league as a depth starter. I couldn't be less concerned about a fungible piece like this bouncing between the majors and AAA as needed by the MLB club.
  8. Look at the guys ahead of them. If you start Pannone and SRF in AAA they'll probably both be up by the end of April and pitch most of the year in the majors anyway. Why not take advantage of options to build as much depth as possible? Especially for someone like Reid-Foley, who will be 23 in 2019, or Pannone, who isn't going be a starter long-term anyway? Relying on mediocre young players to play full seasons in the majors as soon as they get their first taste of MLB action isn't how healthy orgs operate. Have depth everywhere. Let the young guys kick down the door before you relying on them sticking on the 25-man, unless you have a Vlad or Acuna on your hands.
  9. I don’t nenecesarily think Erv is an ideal choice (though I would happily add him) but I strongly agree that Pannone and SRF should start in AAA. The team should be looking to add another SP. Two if they trade Stro. Kikuchi would be great. At least one shiny new toy in an otherwise boring offseason.
  10. Baseball, and forum moderation. So two things.
  11. Jays fans on twitter are pissed. There are like 3 things in the world I know a lot about, and reading/hearing people talk about those things makes me realize that on virtually all subjects, the vast majority of people have no idea what the f*** they’re talking about.

  13. This is great. Good job guys!
  14. 40-man roster is full again with the Shoemaker signing. Would still like to see another SP brought in. Still some kinda interesting names: Erv Santana Buchholz Pomeranz Shelby Miller Holland Hellickson Gio Anderson
  15. Yeah, you're right. Arb-eligible after the 2019 season.
  16. If he even makes 10-15 starts he should be well worth the money: he looked great in the 6 starts he made last year after getting healthy. And as you say, there's big time upside if he manages to stay healthy all year. Of all the non-Keuchel/Kikuchi arms left on the board, he was probably the most intriguing.
  17. Only a 3-3.5M guarantee. I love this signing.
  18. This is great
  19. $8M, not that the $2M changes much
  20. Or the Angels. They need to tell Pujols to take a hike. It's a sunk cost, but it doesn't have to also hurt their team on the field.
  21. Jesus that's cheap.
  22. Donal Trump is President now. It’s ok to say Merry Christmas.
  23. Of course I think you're an angry *******, but you're our angry *******.
