  1. If Maile gets hurt do they move Jansen and lose the DH, or go to the 3rd catcher? Is the 3rd catcher Drury?
  2. That bunt was the first thing I’ve seen from Montoyo that I haven’t liked.
  3. Last night was very fun. I would like another game like that please.
  4. You might actually be the title favourite with a healthy Ohtani
  5. Dinger’s team is real good
  6. On the other hand, many of the best teams in the league were built with shrewd moves and never tanked to get where they are: none of the Dodgers, Red Sox, Brewers, Rays, Athletics, Yankees, Cardinals and Indians are relying on picks given to them for being an unwatchable s*** show in order to be good. For a team with Rogers’ resources to be relying on a high draft pick to compete is f***ing absurd. What would 100 losses even look like? Vlad hurt, Stro and Sanchez ineffective again, most of the recent additions flopping (Drury, McKinney, Shoemaker, Buchholz, Grichuk, Gurriel, Thornton etc...). It would be terrible, both now and for the future. And there’s a nonzero chance Rogers would start thinking about whether Shatkins are the guys for the job if they’re running a complete clusterf*** 4 seasons into their tenure. I’d much, much rather see this team be more 2018 Rays and A’s than 2014 Astros. Give me 82 wins and I’ll enjoy the f*** out of the season.
  7. Baseball isn’t hockey. You don’t need top-five picks to build elite teams. I think it’s objectively much better that the team’s recent additions work out and the team finishes 0.500 than have all of the additions tank and the team lose 95 games. Building some positive momentum under the new coaching staff and bringing Vlad and Bo into that would be the best outcome for this season. And if the team is sub-70 win terrible it means that the FO was wrong on a lot of guys, which doesn’t exactly bode well for the future.
  8. Matt Shoemaker is a f***ing beauty
  9. Shoemaker’s splitter looked nasty. People are sleeping on how good this guy can be if he can stay healthy.
  10. Honestly, it didn't bother me at all and I've been watching baseball for like 25 years. I might even like it better this way.
  11. deGrom vs. Scherzer is not disappointing. Holy f*** I missed baseball.
  12. Helium Dude: Jordan Groshans Sleeper: Chavez Young Disappointment: Rowdy Tellez Total Bust: Jordan Romano Literally Dies:Alejandro Kirk
  13. I did NOT enjoy the Kendrys Morales era.
  14. The Indians are pathetic. They have a rotation with three aces and two #2s, a superelite closer, and two of the 10 best position players in baseball, and they basically punted the offseason and seem headed towards a rebuild. The Dolans shouldn’t own a team.
  15. Interesting. For some reason I didn't even consider Guerra as a candidate, given that he's 33, seems to suck, and isn't on the 40-man.
  16. If this works we'll probably see more if it from teams not contending. It makes sense for the team: they get a free prospect. And Luciano is probably thrilled even if he spends 3 months on the IL. Dude signed for 85k, and was looking to be years away from MLB money, if he made it at all. Now he's primed to make 550k this year.
  17. They've still only announced 24 men for the roster, so last spot probably goes to Adam or Norris.
  18. Also, unless you’re a cyborg Bichette will be more fun to own if they’re similarly talented. You know I’m serious because I once took Brett Lawrie in the second round of a dynasty draft.
  19. I don’t think he’s good, but I’m also not really surprised they kept him. I don’t think he sticks around once his options run out.
  20. Which ones surprise you? Urena vs. Sogard was a wash, and Norris isn't ready yet.
  21. I know, but that doesn't matter now. A pitcher currently on the 40-man would have to not be there if he had been retained. I wouldn't have really cared if they did prefer Bergen to someone like Biagini or Diaz, but I don't think it's clear enough to really complain about.
  22. King's references are out of control. Everybody knows that.
  23. Oliver Drake isn't on the 40.
  24. Paulino is a few months younger than Bergen and carved up AA as a starter, had success in AAA as a starter, and hasn't looked out of place in the majors. Bergen is a pure reliever with 35 innings at AA. I can't think of a single reason to prefer Bergen.
