  1. That might legit be the best bullpen ever assembled.
  2. Miller-Suarez-Morejon-Adam is absurd. Like, that can carry you to a world series.
  3. Holy s*** the traded De Vries for a reliever
  4. I think it depends on what kind of stuff he shows. We saw Snell get 180M and Fried get 220M last offseason. I'm sure teams viewed them as being very likely to miss significant time during those deals, but also saw them as aces who will put up enormous value when they're available for playoff runs. Bieber @ 93-94 is that kind of guy: a horse that can win you multiple games in a single playoff series. I think teams will pay for those caliber of innings in a playoff series. Maybe I was high at 6/150, but I think he clears 100M if he's at that level. Bieber back @ 91-92 might get a Flaherty deal.
  5. Maybe. If he’s actually sitting 94 like reports are suggesting and looks great down the stretch I think he’ll get a surprisingly big contract
  6. It would fit their MO. They’ve shown a willingness and ability to spend significant money on 30+ year old SPs who might not be at the very top of the market. They’ve shown also seem to like guys with great command/pitchability, even if the stuff is more good than front line. They also have Bassitt and Scherzer off the books and then Gausman after next year. I think they’d love to get him signed at like 6/150 or something if the stuff is there.
  7. If the team likes the way his stuff looks, there's no reason not to explore a long-term extension with him.
  8. This is a tremendous acquisition. Bieber is one of the few arms available who has ace upside. This team is 4 games ahead in the division, and will be playing playoff games and Bieber is the kind of guy who can win you playoff games.
  9. I wouldn't be shocked to learn that Atkins was willing to offer Nimmala for Duran and they just preferred Tait + Abel. I think 2.5 years of Duran is by far the most valuable asset that's been dealt so far, and the read that makes the most sense to me is that Minnesota had very strong offers, and are just really high on the two guys they got.
  10. DiPoto runs the Mariners like a s***** fantasy baseball owner. They traded Suarez before the 2024 season for no real reason, then spent two years running s*** out there at 3B, then had to reacquire him.
  11. Locklear is a bit interesting. He's always hit pretty well and is apparently a very good defensive 1B. ARZ must think he has a chance to play everyday.
  12. I just don't see it with Loperfido. He's 26 and and was a hair above average in AAA this year over 315 PA, and projects for a wRC+ of like 95. If we were trading anyone with actual value, another team's Loperfido wouldn't even be on our radar as part of the return.
  13. Kwan has always hit though. He's like if Luis Arraez were an elite defender
  14. Yeah. If I heard the Jays were acquiring Kwan I'd assume one of Yesavage or Nimmala were involved and hope that the rest of the package wasn't too dense.
  15. I feel like he's going to get nuked at GABP
  16. I don't think it would be enough for Kwan. 4 WAR OF controllable for 2.5 years. The package is super weak: Loperfido is 26 and hasn't really hit at AAA this year. Close to no value. Martinez is an all-bat prospect who is 23 and has been a league average hitter in like 700 AAA appearance. Very little value. Stephen is probably like a top-75-125 guy and the most valuable player in the deal. He has value, but I don't see him carrying the weight in a deal for a player like Kwan unless Cleveland absolutely adores him for reasons not available to us.
  17. Definitely Cleveland
  18. Baez (15), Elisalt (43) and Dohm (45) rank super low on the Mets list at FG. I've never heard of any of them. Both him and Helsley and Duran went for super cheap.
  19. Helsley to the Mets. So we're looking at Bednar, and maybe Fairbanks left as high end relief arms.
  20. So the starter will either be good, or not good? Thanks for the hot tip Passan
  21. That's a pretty good return for Rogers
  22. The Reds infield glut we were all talking about in the offseason didn't exactly pan out
  23. It’s pretty consistent with my view of the playoffs as a crapshoot and the important thing being to get there every year. Look at the Braves WS roster and tell me with a straight face that it was better than the other playoff rosters that year, or better than some of the Jays rosters of the last half decade.
  24. The only meaningful difference between the Braves and Jays in the last 6 years or whatever is that Atlanta got lucky with a mediocre roster and got carried to a WS by Jorge Soler, Eddie Rosario, and Ian Anderson. I guess the other difference is that the current Braves administration inherited two HoFers in their 20s and the Jays have none, depending on what you think of Vlad.
  25. Both him and Snitker should be gone after the season. The entire organization is a dumpster
