    On one hand, its hilarious that the Red Sox convinced themselves that they had no use for a 130 wRC+ hitter. On the other hand, Devers seems like an enormous sack of s*** and the rest of the team is probbaly thrilled he's gone.

    Nobody on the team really stands out. The top options: Kirk - Has been pretty good, but Raleigh is clearly ahead and then Dingler and Narvaez are ahead both in WAR and the sexy stats that usually get you into an all star game. Tough sell to get a slap-hitting defensive wizard with 3 dingers into an ASG Clement - Basically same boat as Kirk. Behind Ramirez at 3B, Bregman if he's healthy, probably Paredes. Has more fWAR than any other 2B, so maybe he sneaks in on that basis? Bassitt - Maybe the team's MVP so far? But there's a clear group of 5 or so aces ahead of him, and he's part of a secondary group of like 10-15 SPs all having comparable seasons. Gausman - see: Bassitt Vlad - Probably gets the nod. Doesn't really stand out from Torkelson, Goldschmidt, Aranda, or O'Hearn but has the reputation and still has a month to pull away from the others. I think Brendon Little has excelled the most in his role relative to his peers on other teams.

    I don't think the question Terminator raised has really been addressed. He's saying that if a) the reason why you want an ideal attack angle is to get an ideal launch angle, and b) launch angle is baked into xwOBA then poor attack angle isn't responsible for the discrepancy between wOBA and xwOBA.

    They also picked up Seranthony Dominguez's 8M option and gave Gary Sanchez 8.5M. Last offseason, they brought the following guys in, for a combined 2025 tax hit of $76M: Oneil Morton Sugano Kittredge Sanchez Dominguez Gibson For their 81.5M, they have received -1.7 fWAR. That's NEGATIVE 1.7 fWAR. from the 76M they spent THIS PAST OFFSEASON. It might be the worst offseason in the history of baseball.

    There are a small handful of posters who seem to think you shouldn't update your opinion of players as new information comes in. Maybe, like, 20% of the league is consistently good, year after year.

    Came in here to clown on the Orioles after a busy weekend, and happy to see the Terminator has been doing the needful. This might be the biggest ego check in MLB history - imaging thinking your brain was so much bigger than everyone else's that you just didn't need a rotation.

    I knew Judge was on a massive heater, but I just realized has at 3.9 fWAR. It's May 13th.

    The weirdest thing about Sasaki is how bad his stuff his, at least per Stuff+. That's not what we expected. Everyone thought he had MLB ready stuff and command. It wouldn't have been surprising at all if the stuff was great and the command was lacking, but models hate his fatsball and slider.

    I’ve picked him up like 4 times this year, but haven’t used him since the first two starts of the season. Kept hoping he’d show signs of turning it around but I don’t think it’s happening

    The Orioles are 13-23 with a -69 run differential. Their average run differential PER GAME is almost -2.
