Yeah, we've all seen back end starters get left out to go 5-6 innings because they're the 'hot hand' and then get absolutely bombed eventually. I honestly can't believe that there's this much bellyaching over a strategy to pull someone like Matt Shoemaker before he gives up runs, and not after.
The pitching plan worked today. They squeezed 8 innings of 3-run ball out of pitchers that, frankly, aren't very good. They got shut down by elite pitching and great defense.
